Below you can review a percentage breakdown and an immensely brief summary note on what made the crypto attractive to me (Sadly I will not go into detail as to why I invested in this manner in the chosen coins; I did however do my due diligence of hundreds of hours on forums, developer sites and YouTube before making my decisions):
BitCoin (BTC): 15%- The gold standard, I have to use Bitcoin to buy almost any other alternative currency, with time it is getting much harder to mine and demand is always growing. It holds the best "brand" value out of any cryptocurrency.
EOS:5% - EOS will use an incredibly fair distribution model. Well refined structure and "corporate governance" per say.
Ethereum(ETH): 25% - Silver standard. Also utilized to buy many alt coins direct. Amazing team of developers. Backing of Ethereum Alliance by many large entities. CryptoKitties probably most revolutionary invention of the 21st century, many lives changed, much wow.
Cardano (ADA): 5% - Made by one of Bitcoins original founders, VERY refined system. Has second mover advantage as developers observed all issues and mistakes made with Bitcoin and have made a structure to try and ensure a much smoother development path.
BitCoinCash(BCC/BCH):5% - Being currently favored by mining farms in China, Faster than BitCoin (bigger node size), well adopted by original BTC community.
Golum (GNT): 5% - I get to rent my fancy PC's brain out when I'm not using it, "air B and B" for my CPUs. Basically cloud rendering off all our PC's whilst we A.F.K
IOTA:5% - For the internet of things, uses a tangle not a blockchain, Microsoft is spooning them of late.. this should be good.
LiteCoin (LTC) : 5%- Its fast, its popular, its good, people like it, Charlie's great, I like him.
NEO:5% - Asia's a big market mmmmk.
OmiseGo (OMG) :5% - VERY interesting., Good development team and the Omise company has a good reputation. Project seems well adopted by Thai governemnt and they do have strategic assets to make it a functional payment system REAL QUICK.
SiaCoin(SC):5%- So cheap to buy in right now, team seems decent, Idea is awesome and cost analysis on website of their potential future services speaks for itself. If they get it right its a done deal.
STEEMIT (STEEM): 5% - Uhm, ya, you know STEEMIT, this concept is genius for creating a fast implemented "real world use" for a crypto. Great value system.
Stratis(STRAT):2.5% - Could be good. Blockchain-as-a-service (BAAS) platform for corporations and institutions. Good premise behind it.
Ripple (XRP): 5% - I'm not fond of Banksters, this currency is their heroin, very good to hedge risk with if things get messy in the cryptosphere between traditonal FIAT banking and new age value stores like Cryptocurrency, they are likely going to make this project work on a big scale. Basically gonna make it way easier to send money overseas to each other and make the banks lives a whole lot easier.
Stellar Lumens (XLM): 2.5% - Similar to ripple, seem to target a different geographic region than ripple and are claimed to be better than ripple ( I don't care to judge one currency VS another both have their merits and competition breeds results, decent hedge as it falls away from an decentralized type of crypto like BTC is; another good one for the banksters).
Please note as a disclaimer this is not financial advice. I do manage a corporate portfolio of Cryptocurrency and this is my humble advice regarding crpyto-investing (use it at your own risk). This is how one portfolio I manage looked about 8 months ago and the return has been incredible. Please also note Every Crypto I mention in this post I am invested in as-well (plus another several; they are like my new age stamp collection of sorts). My private portfolio and the one I did mention above is heavily diversified, this is the GOLDEN rule in any investing strategy and is based on probability distribution, simply put, it hedges your risk (i.e if Bitcoin hits a low but Ethereum or IOTA gains value your investment portfolios net value will likely remain stable).
Do not invest anything you cant lose in crypto. I have some associates who are selling their cars and cashing out provident funds to go all in into crypto, this is a high risk move and not something I would recommend people do, its simply irresponsible. Please leave your children's college funds alone, seriously.
NB- don't try day trade Crypto, its a volatile market due to many factors (i.e large demand pull and little fair valuation mechanisms; and NO this factor is not as bad as people make it because the same applies to a Rolex watch. The very same people who slander BitCoin for being overpriced due to only "demand pull" economic mechanisms are likely wearing a 8000-25000USD piece of metal on their wrist as they lecture you on BitCoin's Bubble).
NBB- always be prepared to HOLD .
NBBB- If you sell, try not sell it all (aka dump), you will likely sell a currency at 5USD that will be at 60USD 10 months later, that's gonna hurt, regrets a poison.
NBBBB- Cryptocurrency challenges a lot of outdated notions on financial markets and threatens to upset an old "order", there has been and will always be a large amount of fear mongering towards crypto until the dinosaurs realize this is what the people want and something the world needs. Let the governments play their silly games but as long as a currency remains stable people can survive among the chaos with greater ease. Do not give into FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt). Main stream media inst on our side as of yet and Propaganda inst something you only read about in text books, its all around you. Much Love.
Great picks except Golem. SONM has a similar and better product with a rank of 100. It has lot of potential to grow.
You may be right, I suppose I am lucky I purchased many moons ago, Golums road map is HELLA long, But maybe with time cometh quality? We will see
