My mum just joined the Crypto-World!

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

My mother, who can barely work with a computer decided to invest into crypto currencies! And she didn't hear from me! I underestimated here and didn't even mention to her that I am on steemit or that I invested in EOS. I thought that she will simply not understand. For me it was quite difficult to comprehend this new language of this crypto world. I was only thinking it will be too hard for her - she doesn't have the basics for understanding.

My mum is 55 and was born in an ex-communist country, so she is part of this generation of simple people that don't speak English or really understand the computers. She is always calling me asking what to do, what button should she press, what is this message that comes from the internet, how do you turn the computer off and so on. It is difficult from a certain age to learn new things. And technology for the parents is quite hard. We got so much used to it, we had a computer in school, we know it, we have it on our blood. What to day about this new kids generation that are born with the smartphone on their fingertips.

Anyway, this a short description of her. She is an amazing hard working woman, but not the geeky style. But I mush have underestimated her :) My sister spent the holidays with her and she explained her a bit about Bitcoin and the other currencies. The explanation for all ages that everybody can understand was that cryptos are just the currencies from the internet, and you just trade them how you are trading for example the EUR with the USD.

I converted my sister 3 months ago, exactly when i joined Steemit! I told her about my new discovery and how promising this Brave New World looks like. My sister was immediately convinced. She didn't join steemit though, but she did her own research on the crypto world.

And because I have converted my sister, now my sister had converted my mum. My dad is still skeptical :) So, the result was that** my mum invested almost 400$!!!!!**! Into TRON and VERGE. I guess she just listened the advices of my sister and my brother in law, because this are not currencies in which I believe. I told her about the Steem and the EOS, but she listened to my big sister. I wasn't there to explain, i am thousand of miles away. But still. The seed was planted.

I wish my mum good luck and may her currencies develop exponentially and that we all get rich and get houses and lands :)) Many, and in different places, not close by :))
Do you have any idea on TRON or VERGE? I just heard about them now, when my mum put her 3 weeks worth of wage into them.

The world is changing!

my mother is waiting to see what's gonna happen with me then she'll invest I think, I ain't rich so she's not moving, my brother invested in EOS and he wants to look at other coins now. 2018 year of mainstream crypto.

Fair due to your mum its always a good feeling to be impressed of our parents, it doesn't happen often lol

To be honest I don't know much about them Verge has potential on paper now is the market gonna play the dump coin on it idk ? but TRON I'd stay away from it.

and she even managed to do it anonymously!!! this was the big surprise!! there are atms all over her town (and she is not living in the capital). she even sent me 0.002 BTC to see if it works :)) goodbye banks!

i was also thinking of cardano for me.

thank you for passing by! :))

I haven't even had a conversation with my mum about it, I did with my sister when she came over to visit and it was all new to her. She called me after returning to Ireland to say that now everyone is talking about crypto and sh ewas only here for 2 weeks.

great! it is a good think that all the family is getting "rich" in the same time :) so that we will not be the only ones :)))

Yayyy! Even my mum admitted I was right and is now interested in crypto's.

Verge is a great coin, I have some too :)

when the parents admit we are right, it is a big thing! Maybe I shall get some Verge also, now they are worth penny-less :)

Please call me a goofball or a buzz. Whenever I think about it, I go to your blog and find out: Why didn't I read or vote on this now? Quite simply: because I forgot to press the "follow" button and you don't appear in my feed. All right, now come on. Now I'm too late again to reward the great article!

I will go to the newest one and try it there :-)

What you say about your mom is really appreciative! Good that you can see that you underestimated her. Moms are sometimes really surprising.

My mom was the same. Us kids had to help her in certain areas of modern life but sometimes she just shot the eagle! (that is a German expression, maybe it still delivers the message)

Stay magic!

Yeah!
I wish my daughter would join as well
😜😉
