Just to add some info about Coinbase:
- website isn't totally stable (happens to many exchanges though).
- app is indeed really nice (compared to the fact that most exchanges have no app...)
- fees are really high :(
- Limited number of coins available.
As an alternative, the trusted Kraken. Still a bit slow, no app, but more coins, lower fees (which get lower the more you trade) and reliable.
