Let's take a look at 3 large cap coins to hodl through 2018. This research is done by me and me only, and it has been done by watching and learning what specialists in crypto currencies are thinking.
Just because I mention these three, it doesn't mean there will be other coins doing just as well, or even better.
I'll make a top 5 medium and small cap coins later! Stay tuned.
EOS
EOS can be the next step in the evolution if crypto currencies. If we look at Blockchain 1.0, which was pure currencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin, which are means of transferring value - platform such as Ethereum would take it a step further. With simple smart contracts and applications. This would be Blockchain 2.0 Unfortunately currencies like Ethereum has some scaling issues as well. Blockchain 3.0 however is where EOS comes in. EOS can host ALOT of applications.
EOS can actually take the whole Internet to the next level. Old school Internet was links and imagines. Then came the Internet we have today. Websites, accounts, communications, social networks etc.
With EOS decentralized websites are made possible - like Steemit. The information requested by the servers are decentralized. Our browsers fetch the front end and the server query the blockchain. If the server for some reason is compromised, it doesn't matter - because it's on the Blockchain. This is revolutionary. EOS can deliver huge scale.
Ethereum will however implement similar solutions, and therefore I'm bullish on ETH as well. But as with Bitcoin, these are not the coins that could gain immensely in price the next year (which are the coins I'm mostly interested in) even though they will probably double in value.
EOS should explode in 2018 in my opinion. My personal target is 10x, or $50 billion market cap and a price of about $90-100 per EOS in 2018.
IOTA
IOTA offer a new paradime. IOTA has "tangle" or Directed Acyclic Graph (aaaall righty theeen...) which is not Blockchain.
When you send a transaction you don't have any miners validating, but users. So we do not send any transactions fees. As a user you are rewarded by being able to yourself send a transaction.
Some people claim IOTA is centralized. Which is true for the now. But when the network grows larger, the can remove the "training wheels". If they can show that that's true, IOTA could grow HUGE. Fast fee-less transactions.
No price prediction on this. It depends a lot if they're able to take off the training wheels. But if that happens, and it happens smoothly, we could see a big raise in price.
Lisk
Lisk is relatively new as a high cap coin. They have just released their new wallet. Rebranding will happen in Q1 2018 (20th February) Lisk is basically like Ethereum, an application builder, but in Lisk you program with Javascript. Superfast transactions and a new mobile wallet.
Currently at number 20 in Coinmarketcap just over $2 billion, I think this has the potential to more than double this year. I know people are talking about Lisk 200 and Lisk 500. I personally think that sounds a little far fetched, but who knows! If people like it, and cryptos continue to surge (as they will) we could see 100 and even 200 dollars in 2018.
This is not investing advice. You should never take financial advice from Vikings. I own all three coins and are therefore biased. If you don't buy these coins that's your own responsibility..
The digital currency has attracted attention this year after the huge gains it made, which rose by more than 1000 percent.
Of the nearly 1,400 digitized digital coins on the international scene, only 5 have been vigorously contested and rocked the world's currency market.
The value of the combined digital currency market rose from $ 17.735 billion at the beginning of the year to $ 658.684 billion at the end of last week, adding nearly $ 581 billion over the year, an increase of about 3274 percent.

Yup, and it's still a very small market :)
nice, I like your logo it looks great!
Thanks!
Check out TRON, sitting at a similar market cap to EOS (yet pretty much still a penny stock), great project, great team, lots of potential.
Why is it a penny stock?
I said pretty much a penny stock, currently 7 cents.
Yeah, I think this will be a big one coming this year, lots of potential.
I like the research about your coins. Thank you for saying so beautifully about the coins
As a new investor in cryptos, I appreciate the information and the honest and transparent disclaimer at the end.
May I add SUB and SUB... oh, and did I mention SUB? So basically we all should buy SUB, right?#fanboy ;))

Good post. No one really knows until the end of 2018. NEO and DASH will continue to explode. And don't forget about PPT Populous, up over 10,000% since ICO and with platform going live next month, this could go another 10X easy.
Good choice. Will any of them be at the forefront of such a summary of 2018? :) https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@cryptorep/which-cryptocurrency-has-the-largest-increase-in-value-in-2017

Cheers - i just bought some lisk based on yer recommendation, already have some of the other two.
Somewhat depressingly I cancelled a couple of limit orders on steem to do so (@ about 1.8BTC) kind of wish I hadn't been so tight now!
Still - it's all about diversification!
Good recommendations, until now I had not bought IOTA, but they have recommended it a lot, but IOTA does not appear in Bittrex, I am creating an account in Binance to be able to buy. As for Lisk, he was already eyeing her. What do you think of NXT, they say I could upload, and I understand that from January 5, they will grant Ignis to the NXT owners.
I would get out of XRP :) It's not a crypto currency
