I'm actually reading that book right now as well. Amazing stuff and definitely opened my eyes to crazy fees I was paying before.

Yes, a lot of eye opening stuff in that book for sure! On another note, did you just full upvote your comment and NOT upvote my post? Say it ain't so bro! I know wouldn't do me dirty like that.

Glad you commented. I did hit upvote, but I must have closed the window before it took. Now you get more of a vote since I've let my VP charge :).

Haha, nice bro! Yeah I figured it was an accident as I know you are not a bot :-)

Whew fooled another one!

Oh wait you weren't supposed to hear that.

Some mutual funds really do have huge fee's

Even the one's with "low fees" have hidden fees that make them not that low in the end.

2.5% seems like such a small percentage at first glance. I'd hate to see how much anything above that is. I'll be stocking up some Litecoin right now. Hoping Bitcoin will drop to $8800 or below. I can't believe my parents have mutual funds, despite me explaining crypto to them. smh

Yeah and it's not that they have to even get into crypto. Just lighten up on the mutual funds. I mean even an ETF has less fees, they could literally replicate what the mutual fund's perspective is using those.

embracing & remarkable!

Give up bitcoin trading

??? And give up easy money? I have ZERO dollars invested in bitcoin at this point, yet own a full bitcoin due to trading. Why would I stop trading the equivalent of internet stocks in 1999. Play it till it breaks my friend and yes, it will break.

Saya rasa investasi ke steem dolar lebih tepat

Diversification my friend! I hold more Steem Power than I do any other crypto.

Thanks for the support on the bestie mission! Also, I never thought mutual funds were a way to invest wisely and unfortunately most of my 401k has one to many mutual funds in my portfolio.

That's right, 401(K) handcuffs people into using mutual funds quite a bit.

Always someone with their hand in your pocket. Best to try and keep the hand small.

Brilliant point. If given a choice between two fund managers, each of them with nearly identical track records, always choose the one with the lowest fees. Yet, many people never stop to compare the fees...

non crypto....what about those robo investment firms like betterment and wealthfront are they better the using a "financial advisor" in terms of fees..

Crooks, all of them.

I made a one-time $250 investment in a retirement account just for teachers when I was 26. I only taught for two years, and never put any more money in the account. I just got a letter saying, several years later, my investment is worth just slightly over $800, with a "surrender value" of just over $600. I'm pulling it out and putting it in crypto.

I got that book on my table but haven't cracked into it.

Hey, those "small" numbers certainly add up over time - don't they?

Yeah, the data has been mind blowing so far and I'm only 120 pages in. Really looking forward to reading up on Ray Dalio's investment principles.
