Hey good people,
today I wanna discuss with you the new options that we will have as soon as AMD will release their new Threadripper architecture.

This is interesting, because mining monero is, in comparison to other cryptocurrency, not that bad of an idea. This is reasoned by the fact that uses quite some memory and the AES encryption. The new many thread CPU of AMD will soon hit the market. The time of release is not sure yet but it will probably by the end of july or the begining of august. So it is time to think whether this could be a potential buy for the mining community. As a reminder, here again, the specs that we are looking at:

In my eyes the 1998 model is look promising if the price of Threadripper is low. If we get a high price tag the 1956 modell looks promising as well.
According to a german website, the first test showed that a heavily downclocked Threadripper is able to achieve 400 to 450 H/s at 40 Watt. Just as a comparison: AMD RX480: 750H/s at 130 Watt.
This means this new CPU architecture is most likely worth looking at. You just have to reserve a few cores for the GPUs in your mining rig and the rest of the cores can easily mine monero at a resasonable profit. I'm really looking forward to the first test of well know mining rig builders.
What do you think? Is it worth waiting for this CPU to launch and integrate it into a new mining rig? Or do you prefer to go with the standard Pentium CPUs and let them "idle".
Feel free to comment.
I prefer to go with standard Pentium Cpu i think it's safer
If it really will do 400 to 450 H/s at 40 Watt, can be a good choice if the price of monero comes up! Nice work!
The Ryzen 7 1700 can do 625 H/s at 60 watt.
