Gujarat Crime Branch has arrested Amreli Superintendent of Police (SP) Jagdish Patel on Monday for allegedly forcing Bitcoin and cash recovery from a builder. An official said that the Crime Branch of the CID arrested Patel after a long interrogation in the divisional office located in Gandhinagar. A police official said that Patel was taken into custody from his residence in Amreli district. CID (Crime) Deputy Inspector General Dipankar Trivedi said that after arresting Amreli SP Jagadish Patel was arrested. In this case, a police inspector, two constables and one suspect intermediary were arrested some days ago. Arrested Inspector Anant Patel, a builder Shailesh Bhat, living in Surat, is accused of charging millions of rupees worth of bitcoins and cash. Apart from Anant Patel, nine other policemen and a middleman have been made accused in the case. It is important that Patel's name was not included in the FIR but his involvement was found during the investigation. Meanwhile, Director General of Police Shivanand Jha, Suspension is ordered. Patel is now in custody of CID-crime.
