I have just returned from overseas so forgive me if this is common knowledge but I think if it helps just one person then it will be worth it.
While the bitcoin fork is old news now some people, like me, had our bitcoin stashed away on a software wallet like Jaxx, mycelium, or blockchain.info and it is now over 4 weeks since the fork and still no ETA from the developers , well at least not from Jaxx dev's anyway... unless you classify "we are working on it" as an ETA.
I got frustrated and started researching how to get my BCH to an exchange and BTC.com has come to the rescue with their handy little tool. Simply follow these steps to claim your BCH
- Create a BCH wallet at bcc-wallet.btc.com
- Click on "Settings" on the left hand side and
- Then "Import External Wallet" down the bottom of the screen
- Now you will need to enter your 12 word catch phrase . For Jaxx go to Tools>Backup Wallet>View Backup Catchphrase>I Understand>PIN (if required)>12 word catchphrase will be displayed. For blockchain.info you should have received a 12-word recovery phrase PDF when making your account. Otherwise in your wallet click Settings>Security>Backup Phrase
- Copy the phrase into the box and then click "next". I am not sure with mycelium you will need to check with them.
- The program will then search for you balance which took about 2-3 minutes and ask if you would like to send to Btc.com, click send and you are done
It took about 25 mins for mine to be confirmed I then simply transferred it to the exchange of my choice. In this case Bittrex
Hope this helps you to get what is rightfully yours and as always have a great day.

What are the security implications of this?
Are you asking if this is this legit?
Is this method legit?
Absolutely, you can read about BTC.com on coindesk and see a post on BTC.com blog about this tool.
