Tracking your portfolio - for beginner crypto-investors

You own a few different cryptocurrencies scattered across multiple wallets. You're not rich, your holdings are minimal. But you still want to keep a bird's eye view on your portfolio.

How do you track all of these coins in one place?

If your trading strategy is a mid to long-term HODL then Coin Stats is an especially great app for babysitting your portfolio. I've been pleasantly surprised with it's simplicity and usefulness:

Simply create a new portfolio, add the coins you want, and see a real time graph of prices! I've found it to be incredibly accurate (usually within a few cents of the price). The news articles are also very informative and up to date as well.

One of the coolest features is the ability to link to an exchange directly with an API key. Right now I have my Binance and Poloniex account directly linked to Coin Stats.

Even if you don't own any coins, you can still generate a mock portfolio just as easily with your favorite coins and watch them grow! (or crash).

tl;dr

  • Download Coin Stats.
  • Create a new portfolio containing your coins.
  • Add an API key.
  • If you don't own coins, you can still make a mock portfolio the same way you make a real one.

Was running off a spreadsheet, but since binance its getting harder to maintain. I'll check this out.
