Digital advertising, also called Internet advertising is when businesses leverage Internet technologies to deliver promotional advertisements to consumers.
Digital advertising includes promotional advertisements and messages delivered through email, social media websites, online advertising on search engines, banner ads on mobile or Web sites and affiliates programs 1.
It is fair to say that ads is a factor so intrinsic to the internet, that we start to develop sort of an unconscious reaction in which instinctively we start to close them as fast as we can (especially the ones that interrupt) without even watching what the ad is all about, and only wanting to close it as soon as possible so we can continue with whatever we were doing before being interrupted.
Many ads are a real menace. Almost all the times when I get on the internet, I always find these pop-up ads popping up all over my screen. It’s so annoying that one doesn't bother to check the content of the advert.
In cases where these ads are clicked on by error, one doesn’t bother to see what it is about, either. We are usually mad, and in a hurry to click on the “close” button. Hence, the advertiser has incurred a loss, and wouldn’t get the expected ROI.
We didn’t ask to see that ad anyways, so why should we bother to really take a look at it? It is just a waste of time, and a waste of money for the advertiser as well. It is really pathetic
EFFECT AND CHALLENGES OF MODERN ADVERTISING TO DIFFERENT STAKEHOLDERS IN THE ADVERTISING INDUSTRY

I get really infuriated getting on websites only to be greeted with Ads that I might not even get to understand their purpose and function. Some of these Ads being displayed might even be attached with various numbers of malware or viruses thereby making them intrusive in the sense that no concern is given to the privacy of such users.
Personally, I do experience this virtually every time I visit some websites or downloading some Apps on Google Playstore, only to find out that I can't even enjoy the purpose of visiting such website or downloading the Apps.
Moreso, the ineffectiveness of some Ads blocker would even make such users try getting what will be effective and this eventually leads to waste of money in the form of data. All these experiences coupled together make the user get sick of getting information online.
SELF ACCLAIMED ADVERTISERS
When a company wants to start advertising their product, it obviously does not do it on their own. It finds a third party that does this for them.
These advertisers often times do a haphazard work, which as good as not done, this becomes a serious problem for both parties.
Another major problem advertisers encounter is the denial of transparency since they have no direct relationship with the publisher. Also, they have little to no control as to the quality of the audience their ads are being presented to. Most of the times while visiting some websites where different products are being advertised, I don't bother clicking on the Ads let alone of buying the products as it is not what originally come to the website to look for, and I believe most people do same thing.
VALUE CREATORS / PUBLISHERS
When some of these value creators create value, they are faced with the difficulty of getting the right marjeters or advertisers who would push their business on top of the list chain. But because of the huge sum of money these supposedly advertisers charge, it becomes some sort of opportunity cost. They settle for the cheapest they can get
Publishers, despite all the stress they have to go through during the creation of various contents still find it difficult and uneasy to monetize, even though they are able to generate a large number of traffic. So, what they do is to adopt a cunning method of converting their visitors to subscribers thereby having a direct relationship with them via emails, push notifications and any other means. Eventually, they are able to generate a little amount of dollars indirectly from their subscribers since they will be compensated for whatever Ads those subscribers click on their own website rather than using the direct method.

Users will no longer be annoyed because ads will stop being intrusive, and also, they will be able to receive rewards based on how much engagement and interaction they have with said ads. And publishers, will have a better way to monetize their content, in which visitors are respected while also allowing for a more efficient ad strategy to take place.
