In South Korea people will soon be able to pay for their online purchases on Wemepu (WeMakePrice) with 12 different CryptoCurrencies. Considering Wemepu being one of the biggest e-commerce platforms in South Korea that´s more than just big news for the cryptosphere. I´d actually go as far as to call it a major victory on the way to the Top!
Based on a Tweet from Joseph Young they plan to integrate the cryptocurrency payments together with Bithumb, which seems to be a good idea to me as that almost guarantees a flawless integration from the very beginning.
Which Cryptos Will Be Integrated On Wemepu?
After some more research I could find further information by tranlsating News.Naver.com, which confirmed the integration of at least three of the top cryptocurrencies being Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple. Additionally Charlie Lee tweeted that Litecoin will be one of the other coins, which are going to be integrated as well.
Might Steem Be Among Those 12 Chosen Coins?
Unfortunately I couldn´t find any official reports or information on which other coins could possibly get integrated as a payment option on Wemepu. But what do you guys think? Might steem eventually be one of the tokens they chose to include?
In my opinion they´d be clever to do so as steem got 3 sec. blocks, which means more or less instant payments so that purchases could be confirmed and shipped instantyl. Of course on top of that they would not have to worry about any transaction fees as those are fee-less on the steem blockchain.
What´s Your Opinion?
Might Steem Be One Of The 12 Chosen Coins?

Very intriguing news, another step in the broadbased applications and access for cryptos, ty!
Cryptos are on the road to success. They can't be stopped anymore by the officials, it's too late for that already :)
Agreed, the more I learn, the more I'm psyched about decentralized alternatives and self-reliance off the governo/corpo/financialization of currency, markets and economic manipulation/imperialism.
I think Charlie Lee might have mentioned this as a hint couple of weeks back on his Twitter feed. This is good news for LTC and crypto in general. God knows we can use some help on Litecoin:)
It's more than just good news and an awesome step towards mass adoption after all :)
thanks your post!
This is HUGE news! Everyone should be pumped for this!
So cool to see the active wallets coming. But, yeah, always a question of what coins... All of them are so volatile right now :\
🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞I hope so. I love when people can buy stuff with crypto. It proves to me how amazing it can be. The more shops that take it the better.

Thanks for sharing this @steembusiness. I think it's great that companies like this are beginning cryptocurrency payment system integration, although I'm not sure if steem will make the list.
I hope that it does as it makes sense, but I work full time in cryptocurrencies and from talking to a lot if people in the industry, it is merely seen as the currency that powers the Steemit platform.
I hope that this company have researched more in detail and do include steem though, purely based on its speed. I wonder how much STEEM's 24 Vol. Average would change if this did happen.
Thanks again for sharing, would appreciate any feedback you have on my posts!
This is great news
As regards your question, I dunno know..
I guess a major determinant will be how popular steemit is in South Korea
This news, it was also talked about in Japan.
Considering many of the early adopters of Steemit and STEEM were based in Korea, and taking into account the recent influx of trading in both SBD and STEEM over there, I would say it's a high possibility. But mainly, I wanted to stop in and say thanks for supporting the fam :)
