Crypto: we are still early adopters

Despite the fact Bitcoin and other cryptos have reached values that were deemed impossible by many just a few years ago, I believe everyone who is now active in Cryptoland can still be considered as early adopters.

This year alone, the total market cap for cryptocurrencies ballooned from around $15 billion in january to well over $100 billion nowadays. Yet, still a tiny portion of the global population is active within the world of cryptocurrencies and the vast majority might be not even aware of the whole thing. I live in a wealthy country with excellent access to the WWW, but I know very few people who have actually taken steps regarding digital currencies.

Imagine if crypto will undergo the same growth as mobile phones and the internet in the last few decades; in 1990-1995, the internet and mobile phones were virtually unknown among the general public. It was seen as a curiosity for geeks and unnecessary, yet from 1995 on those two phenomena emerged in a spectacular way and are now dominating the world. I would like to see the graph of coinmarketcap.com (as seen above) in 2020 ... !

Indeed we are :) I wish I got on earlier but now is still a very good time, lots of room to grow

Some analysts are predicting $10,000 or even $100,000 BTC values. I don't know about $100k, but it will keep going up for some time. ETH will likely overthrow its dominance within 12 months, 2 max, but it will still be a heck of an investment to keep. We're definitely still early adopters phase since cryptocurrencies haven't yet - truly - entered mainstream consciousness. We're just not cryptocurrency hipsters. ;)

I seen ETH coming from the beginning, but BTC can be updated so time will tell

I'm excited to be a part of it now, regardless. I think the tech is very interesting and world changing. It's definitely another technological shift like computers, the internet, e-mail, etc. I've lived through 2 of those 3 and I have the same feeling with cryptocurrency.

Definitely still early, some promising projects are just getting popular : Substratum and Cardano for example. Mass adoption is still far away. However let's not be greedy and not forget the initial purpose of cryptos : to actually use it :)
