This Bitcoin Gold scheme is essentially an attempt to capitalize on the BCH hype while it's still fresh. These people saw how BCH's marketcap stayed in the billions after the fork, and they decided to repeat the process under the guise of "making Bitcoin minable with GPU once again."

Forking is the new business model, creating money out of thin air.
In my opinion BTC forks are pointless. Because the value of BTC is mostly based on speculation.
As long as the general public doesn't look any further than the 'classic' Bitcoin their isn't going to change much.
