RE: Cryptocurrencies Market Overview - December 15, 2017

@yahyaoa (44) This comment is for your benefit so you don't find others downvoting or flagging you.

I have noticed that you have made a number of very short comments on other blogs, which are similar in style to the one above. They don’t really add anything to the discussion of the topic. You seem to be repeating the same kinds of short comment on many blogs, without a meaningful discussion of the subject matter.

Short posts like this look like spam. You risk others interpreting it that way and flagging you.

Lots of new users to Steemit try do this. The motive is usually that they are fishing for votes and hoping to draw attention to themselves, get up-votes or followers.

It does not work.

Only a newbie with no power is likely to fall for it. That's no use to you at all. Whilst newbies might think your interest was genuine, and upvote you, or even follow you, their vote is generally worth nothing. It won't enhance your reputation.

You need seasoned Steemians with a lot of influence. They've seen this kind of behaviour thousands of times. They are more likely to flag you than vote for you.

More seasoned Steemit users will see your post for what it is, and at best simply ignore or mute you. If you want to advance your reputation, you need votes from these higher reputation users.

Some whales will deliberately hunt down and flag users who behave like this.

Downvotes or flags can significantly lower your reputation, can result in the removal of rewards, and may result in your posts or comments not being seen by others.

A single downvote can set you back a long way in your quest for followers, reputation and rewards.

If you like a post, it is generally sufficient to upvote it unless you want to join in the debate.

Steemit is a place for original writing and thought provoking discussions. If you write well, and comment intelligently with interesting and thought provoking comments, you will gradually build a following, and eventually the rewards will flow. Trying to game the system in the hope of milking the reward pool, before you deserve it, is likely to be spotted by the whales. A single downvote could set you back a long way.

Please help keep Steemit free of spam posts.

Another thing to be careful of is asking other people to upvote or follow you. Some new users make the mistake of doing this. This is also counter-productive and irritating. Asking for upvotes and follows is against Steemit etiquette. Some users may downvote, mute, or flag users who do this.

Don’t worry, I haven’t flagged or downvoted you. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that you were genuinely trying to encourage the post. An upvote would have been sufficient.

I often reward intelligent comments. I have a lot of Steempower. A 100% upvote from me is worth hundreds of times a normal upvote. I hope I can reward you for intelligent and thought provoking posts or comments in the future.

Good luck in your future posts!

Look how much money other people’s meaningful comments earned to see what you are missing.
