Good question. I do not know the answer. Apparently there are definite short comings in the original Bitcoin model related to consensus, if I understand the article pasted just here it appears 1/3 is all it takes for an attack on consensus - not sure if this was re-assessed in the Bitcoin Cash model or the upcoming Bitcoin fork.
