I just ordered this display/case for a Raspberry PI, and going to build something I've been meaning to do for a while now.
I currently have alerts, browser tabs, and desktop widgets monitoring prices and activity. Been wanting to build a physical dashboard for the coins I am most interested in and alerts when certain events happen.
I am running out of space on my 3 monitors and harder to see the desktop widgets and constantly switching tabs is time-consuming. I'm going to start out with a small display that can fit under one of my monitors and ultimately will likely go with a large widescreen TV above my screens so I can move a lot of my "Dashboard" type of pages into one dedicated display.
I am a big fan of building Dashboards for my business and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), but I always wanted something physical like this, but replace all the dials and switches with graphs and numbers.
When I have a working prototype, I'll post an update on how it works out. I haven't started the coding, but I want to see if I can work on it this or next week and have it going really soon. I can easily migrate it to a dedicated 50"+ TV mounted on the wall.
I have been wanting to do this for a long time, the recent Steem Backed Dollar event really got me thinking I should already have it. Once my Steem Online Store is ready, I will make them available if they turn out well and people are interested.

Very interesting idea to ease up the whole process. I think people will more than interested for this.
Something similar is on my list of Arduino projects, but it's behind the timelapse rail (see my recent posts), my arduino controlled Xmas sweater, water drop controller and chicken coop door controller. So much to do, so little time.
