Is Crypto ACTUALLY a Currency???

Everyday there is something new in the media about bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, ICO’s.

Whether it’s the price volatility, the upcoming regulations, new launches, etc. it doesn’t matter you know you’ll find something to read about crytpos.

Have you ever tried living off of crypto?

Truly, like buying a pizza, grabbing UBER, going out for dinner, going to the movies? Ever notice how difficult it is to actually pay for things? Why is it that retailers are still lagging behind in actually adopting cryptos as legitimate currency? I mean we see the volatility in the stock market, we see people trading it, and using it as a stock pile for monetary exchange, but is anyone really transacting with it?

Why are retailers late adopters?

Is it because there is lack of demand or is it because of the volatility? Is it both?

If we are actually going to accept this type of currency, as currency then it must legitimately become a medium of exchange. Until then, we should be wary of using the term currency, because as it stands, if there is no medium of exchange, and I mean on a daily, frequent basis, can we truly use the word?

What do you think?

Honestly I think the word currency will mean more overtime, but right now it is definitely not like USD.

You are correct - the word currency will most likely be more encompassing in the future. I just wonder when we'll get there.
