Yeah, that would be interesting. Though there is lot of FUD and rumors; IOTA has collaboration with known big organizations. It's not a direct partnership but working together to make M2M solutions better.
It has great use but people should opt for running a full node to help the network congestion. Once that happens it would scale horizontally by its nature.
Hope for the best. IOTA 2018 will rock for sure.
