RE: Foldingcoin vs Gridcoin vs Curecoin vs Primecoin. The technical review.

Primecoin? That coin hasn't seen a new release in three years:

Ranked 74th according to Coingecko developer score:

It's an interesting coin, but apparently little more than a curiosity nowadays.

Also, why would you like to have a coin mined with SHA-256, and 'supported' by cancer-curing research? Is it not better to have a coin mined by cancer-curing research itself, and ditch the SHA-256 altogether? The last thing we need is more SHA-256 coins.

I'm not talking about the technology, I mean the short-term investment for taking advantage. We just have to ditch Bitcoin! Is that what you're proposing?

No, I am proposing to ditch SHA-256 in research coins. There's plenty of computing work to be done for science, no need to waste precious computing power on repetitive hashing algorithms.

Regarding your investment advice, I think investing in coins which aren't developed any more isn't a very good idea. But I guess my investing strategy is more cautious than yours.

Idd, zero need for POW when rewarding research projects.
