When I first took a close look at bitcoin and crypto currency, my initial thoughts were probably not far from everyone else's. First it was "Yah right that won't last.....this is just a bubble." Then, I dug in and learned a little about blockchain, some of the projects, and more about the real-world use cases and strength in a store of value. This was soon followed by the notion that the real gains had already been made and I was late to the game. This is where I was reminded about the lesson back in the day in economics and business marketing college.
Basically, we are currently somewhere along the Early Adopters phase in Crypto as a whole. Exactly where does not matter so much as how far the trajectory continues even after we enter Early Majority. as a scale of reference, if Bitcoin were to conservatively be at $20,000 USD upon entering Early Majority, and maintain its dominance currently at somewhere near 1/3 of all crypto as per the chart as of today) then we could easily see $100k bitcoin, especially after all the coins are mined and there is legitimately a finite supply.
Sometimes it feels that we are further along in the adoption cycle (perhaps even on the cusp of early majority) because of the hype, mainstream media, and amount of crypto knowledge we have packed into our brains. The topic comes up in business conversations, on facebook and Steemit feeds, and even with family at holiday dinners. We must look at the words themselves to decide whether or not that is the case and our runway is becoming short as we stride for the land-grab before the masses jump in.
Ask yourself how many of the faces you see in your day-to-day lives how many of the faces you see actually own and crypto at all. Not know about it, have talked about it, are considering it......even own one little bit of it. Very conservatively, I would estimate 5% tops and I am surrounded by a crypto-currency operation and have been helping everyone I know who wants to hear about it get involved.
So find some solace in the fact that you are ahead of the race at this point, the REAL growth is yet to happen, and what you are doing now could still compound in value and set you up nicely no matter how far down the rabbit hole you are.
In Steemit, I like to think we are a little closer to the innovators than the early majority and we have an incredible opportunity in front of us to add to our portfolio and income.
Thoughts?
It's exactly like this:
