A recent survey provides some insight into the world of American cryptocurrency buyers. Almost 8% of the respnodents claim to have or are planning on buying cryptocurrency. This is from a survey of over 2,000 American.
While this is not an overwhelming percentage, it shows the interest is more than just some fringe groups. Of those who have not or do not plan on purchasing them, the responses could be short lived. As cryptocurrency becomes easier to use, more people might get interested.

A recent study on Americans and cryptocurrencies, commissioned by Finder.com in February, shows that 8 percent, or around 26 mln, of Americans have purchased cryptocurrency.
Finder's survey was answered by 2,001 Americans adults using Pureprofile, a site that gives cash rewards to users that participate in its surveys.
The survey found that out of the 92.05 percent of Americans that have not purchased crypto, almost 8 percent reported that they are planning on doing so in the future. According to the survey, men are more than double as likely as women to own cryptocurrency -- 11.86 percent of all men to 4.27 percent of all women -- as well as more likely to own more crypto in terms of dollar value.
Cryptocurrencies are disproportionately owned more by millenials as opposed to baby boomers--17.2 percent of millenials and 2.24 percent of baby boomers reported having crypto holdings.
A study from December of last year by Blockchain Capital also showed that millennials favor Bitcoin (BTC) over traditional bank accounts.
The survey also address the reasons why Americans are not buying cryptocurrencies. The majority of both men and women think that "there is no need or they are disinterested," while the least popular reason for both genders is "there are too many fees."
More than twice the amount of men as opposed to women consider crypto to be a bubble or a scam, but both genders see it about equally "too difficult to use" and "too complicated to understand."
Different generations have different reasons for their lack of owning any cryptocurrencies.
As for the most popular kinds of cryptocurrency bought by American adults,** Bitcoin comes in first place, with Ethereum (ETH) almost four percentage points lower in second,** and Bitcoin Cash(BCH) in third with less than one percent.

Thanks for sharing the information, the adoption rate is increasing rapidly there's no stopping it now!🚀
26million is a massive amount of people. This increases more trust in cryptocurrency. A high number of investors from developed countries shows a degree of certainty in a bright future for cryptoassets. I believe the globe is going crypto' blockchain technology in every field of profession.. Whoever is shunning the market right now is going to look back with regret in the future when it's crypto everywhere; shops, hospitals, buses. Lets continue creating awareness for more people to get part of this transition. The higher the number the stronger the currencies. It's time up for centralised currencies.
To the moon!
Wow! America shows only 8%, i begin wonder what the result can be for an underdeveloped country like mine (Cameroon) probably less than 0.00001% lol.
Great post tho. zerohedge.com can be a very informative site, isn't it @zer0hedge?
THE BULLS ARE BACK BOYS. LET'S GO.
Great to read news like this. Even Bitcoin bull Tom Lee says alt-coin bear market is largely over.
Get ready for the end of the “alt-coin” bear market in cryptocurrency. The crypto market has been on the decline since the beginning of 2018, but I and most of us expect a rally in "alt-coins" is on the horizon. As a matter of fact We just hit a confirmed breakout point above $8750!
That really good news as we are at the early stages of cryptocurrencies i think that these stats are good. Yeah that true also most people don't want to invest in cryptocurrencies because they don't understand the concept of blockchain so awareness to be spread about the use and how blockchain works.
People jump into cryptos as they ascend. I expect a lot of buying in the coming weeks. Of course, they should have bought when blood was in the streets last month and earlier this week. It would be good if steem comes in top 5 currencies in usa. I hope it will be possible in few months.
Great news, I think this number will go up with the rise of "utility tokens".
Yeah, cryptocurrencies are pretty difficult to use and understand. When I got into cryptocurrencies, it took me a few weeks to even start understanding what's it all about. Cryptos need to become much more simple so the average person would consider using it.
Cryptocarrancy is a nice carrancy
Crypocurrencies are growing! Still have some major obstacles in the way, but I know we can eventually make it to mass adoption in the very near future!

US population is almost 326 millions, which means that 26 million of them want to get into crypto currencies, considering that some of them already bought. This means a lot of money coming to this world, so we can only expect to see a "boom" when they all decide it is a good time to get in.
The only problem of this survey is the low amount of people inquired.
By any chance did you find or now some reputable sources why crypto is majority male-focused? What stops the ladies to contribute and play in crypto markets?
