Hi, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on the main differences between something like Golem and a coin like Gridcoin that has been around for some years now but hasn't taken off. I've been very interested in Golem, but I find it concerning that a volunteer gpu network for scientific computation like gridcoin hasn't really been able to make an impact. Any thoughts would be great! (this is also my first comment ever haha)

Welcome to steemit! I've never heard of it. I need to do some research on it, thank you. Golem is not a theory or idea anymore, it actually works!
Thanks! Yeah it looks like Golem has been making good progress and has launched a cpu network. Gridcoin has also been around for a while and allows gpus for computing a wide array of things including protein folding, SETI, etc. I'm surprised with Gridcoin being around for years and allowing scientific computing that's so unknown.
