I wanted to share a specimen of Amazonite that I found a couple months back at a rock show in Colorado. Just one more little example that I seem to be blessed with finding what I need when I need it. I had been wanting to find a sample of Amazonite because I'm one of those woo woo people who believes in the healing powers crystals have to offer . Some recent life changes had left me with a few needs that I felt this mineral could assist with.
I had been blessed with an all expense payed trip to help some friends settle into their new home in Colorado. Well Colorado just happens to be one of the handful of places on this planet where Amazonite has chosen to make itself known. While there I happened to find a gem and mineral show just north of where I was staying. I was pretty sure this would be a good bet to find my new little life helper.
I arrived spellbound like a kid in a candy store. Being an avid rockhound and a novice lapidary worker this was totally my jam. I quickly found the booth of a family that I have been aware of over the years that is famous for their Amazonite prospecting. They had their fancy steeply priced specimens and I was really happy to gawk at all of their treasures. Having recently left a stable career I was feeling a bit frugal and only picked up a couple of their more modestly priced finds.
Nice clean dark Smokey Quartz with a smidgen of Amazonite(each about an inch long)
I basked in the community of fellow rockhounds and found my way to the booth of an old seasoned veteran of the hobby with tables of uncleaned barely discernible rocks. Digging through I spotted a dirty cluster with a recognizable crystal structure and a slight glimmer of the beautiful blue green that Amazonite is famous for. I turned the rock over to check the price...
Two dollars?!? That was definitely worth the gamble and I had a really good feeling about this rock. I got a couple more pieces for some lapidary work and tucked them in my bag. I wound up going a bit overboard by the time the day was done but was really anxious to see if my $2 dirty little rock was all that I thought it would be.
Arriving back at my friends house I got to work on the clean up. It was love at first sight...exactly what I had been searching for.
I love how I unexpectedly stumbled across the perfect specimen for me. Once again the universe had answered my call for something that I was searching for. Not long after I also found the perfect display for it.
There were some crystals that broke away when I was cleaning it and they will be perfect for future lapidary ventures. What I am looking forward to the most though is connecting with this amazing crystal and asking for its help on this next segment of my life journey.
Amazonite has a multitude of healing/helping properties and I encourage you to check them out on the interwebs. While some may doubt, I believe the spiritual connection I have created with crystals in my life brings encouragement and results. Belief is always the key to everything in life.
Amazonite has been touted for enhancing general good health. It resonates with your heart and throat chakras and has the ability to escort you into new phases of your life, giving you a voice in it and a direction with your heart; something I desperately need right now. This is only the tip of the iceburg for this little powerhouse though, there are many many other gifts it has to offer. If nothing else it is a beautiful creation of nature and the miracle of it's existence is a wonder all it's own.
On a side note, it's also reputed, as with a lot of other crystals, to absorb electromagnetic waves such as those pulsating from our computers and such. My display is located directly next to my computer and I keep a little piece on my computer just in case that might be true ;)
There is so much to these geological wonders and I could go on and on but I will save that for future postings.
Wish you all find what empowers you in your phases of life. If crystals aren't your thing then I bet you have something else that gives you strength. I hope it's abundant in your life and that you can always call on it when need be.

Quite an agreeable stone. Thats a nice looking specimen with the white stone matrix, I've not seen one like this. Are you on steemit chat? Find me if you want so we can talk about herbs and such things.
It was just the specimen I was searching for for sure!
I haven't gotten into the whole chat thing yet but will definitely look into it and seek you out. Would love to talk about herbs and crystals and such!
Wow its very interesting! The stone its beautiful and I also believe they have an amazing energy!! I like they way you decorated it as well! :)
Thanks Elia! Hopefully soon I will be posting more of my favorites. My entire home is like a rock museum.
Thats so cool!! Im looking forward to see more in your future posts!! :) I have a few but I dont know much about them but Im really interested in learning more!

Thanks for reading Dil :). It's probably one of the most interesting things to look into if you have the time. They really are very powerful in so many ways.
I am a geologist and this is awesome, check out my page to see what kind of geology I do in my area! thanks
Thanks for checking out my post, I'm glad you liked it. Amazonite is amazing! I'm curious what you do for a living? I went to school to study geology but wound up switching gears. Still wish I had followed through on that path. Minerology has always seemed like it would be a very interesting focus.
