Another keeper

I'm sorting out collections in the back room and attic again. I discovered this little cutie.

It's a mixture of quartz and black bladed calcite, with a mix of color.

When I first saw it, I was overly impressed. But it kept drawing me back to it.

So I decided to check it out under the scope


These are very clear quartz crystal with what appears to be a gold flakey mineral behind them. Could be pyrite, could be gold. Who knows.

There are other clear quartz crystals but the light on the scope takes away the beauty in the pics.

What I find really cool is the black bladed calcite crystals around the quartz.

This is definitely going home with me....
Now I just have to find room for it
