To all of those using GPUs in Datacenters or researching operations:
Nvidia is going to be adding new details to their EULA that will not allow for you to utilize them in such ways for mining of similar. This can have some serious repercussions as people will end up having to upgrade to the more expensive Telsa V100's as detailed in the article from which I am sourcing this ( Will be linked below. ) I understand that GPU mining, has been outdated for things such as Bitcoin, but you can still very much accomplish getting some decent mining power for other coins with these types of GPUs.
“GeForce and TITAN GPUs were never designed for data center deployments with the complex hardware, software, and thermal requirements for 24×7 operation, where there are often multi-stack racks,” a spokesperson for Nvidia said.
While I do understand that this is something they can easily just outright say, I am highly against this as, if you buy a product you should be able to utilize it however you'd like. Whether that be in colocated servers, or just for simple mining. This is an out right attack on anyone not using their GPUs for gaming or editing purposes.
Nvidia is trying to squeeze more money from users . . . if that is the case, IMO. Bad faith behavior on their part. Then again, most users will ignore them.
Yep more bull crap tactics on their end. The implications of this is they can send cease and desist letters, should your equipment be in a hosting environment. Pretty messed up. We should be able to freely use our paid for GPUs how we please.
From what i've read so far it seems that they do allow for mining operations. They don't allow them in "data centers".
As quoted:
The SOFTWARE is not licensed for datacenter deployment, except that blockchain processing in a datacenter is permitted."
So you can continue to mine!
