With God All Things Are Possible

Often this verse is taken out of context. It is not meant in a name it and claim it, gab it and grab it kind of way. Let's study the context.

Mathew 19

23Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 25When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? 26But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Notice how Jesus is talking about a rich man entering the kingdom of God and that with God all things are possible. With God, the rich man can enter the kingdom of God.

I studied passages like this and realize you can't have faith to get everything you want. Not everyone is going to live in a beach house in Bali, driving a Bentley.

However, the opposite mistake is often true. I think many of us simply do not have enough faith. I am one of these people.

Part of the reason I do not post regularly here is that I'm a very sleepy person. I often need to go to bed soon after I arrive home from work and eat dinner.

It can be very depressing. I have tried everything but maybe I am not trusting God enough to give me strength. Maybe if I prayed every night and believed during the day that God is making me stronger, I could become stronger and stay awake after work and get more things accomplished.

Maybe you're like me thinking that God doesn't want to answer your prayers and I do believe sometimes God answers our prayers with a no because he knows more about the situation than we do. However, maybe you are like me and maybe you are just not having enough faith.

Remember, I'm not talking name-it-and-claim-it theology. That is an extreme theology but not having enough faith can be just as bad.
