Diwali is my favourite festival and the best part about it is that although it's a 1 day festival, but it brightens our lives for a month almost. The festive feel that it brings is amazing and I believe it is such a popular festival that it is celebrated across the globe now. May be not with respect to all the Indian customs, but atleast as a festival of lights and joy.
