Cultism And The Nigerian Youths: Save the Future Of The Youth

I learned something when I visited an old classroom about 5 years ago. I saw on the wall an inscription boldly written on the wall. The literal meaning of the words carry a force that even the deepest of the subconscious mind will come to liberation. But what were these words?
"..All is well...
All will be well
Even inside the well
For as long as God is aware
So tell the devil to beware
Because he will still end up in hell."

Back then, when I saw these words on the wall, I never had a deep feeling of its meaning, maybe I was oblivious of it then. But howbeit I realised that there were true and potent meanings to these words. I had to take another trip back to the old classroom when I couldn't remember what the words were. Getting to the wall, the wise words were still there, but it had faded off and still visible to be eyes.

For all is well as long as God is aware

I made a post about cultism in Nigeria about 2 weeks ago. I only addressed some minor issues that cause this evil trend of cultism. Politics, the home, and the society are contributing factors to cultism. They fail to recognise the deep influence they have in combating cultism.

  • A child that comes from a good home will definitely end up well as a responsible adult.

  • When the society harmoniously clean up the moral decadence and the detrimental aspect of their tradition and culture with respect to cultism, many people in the society will live in peace and in happiness.

  • If government should embrace free and fair election, and stop using the youth to influence election, then a peaceful nation is certain.

However, we are yet to see the light in the tunnel.

EDUCATION AND CULTISM

I heard someone said "The best gift a parent can give to a child is education." This might be too good to be true. Education is a key to success. Education makes the road to success and the path to greatness clearer and brighter. Education is not a school.

The true purpose of education is to turn information that one had learned into positive meaning

Despite the growing percentage of literacy level in Nigeria, the youth are still in psychological chains bounded by cultism. They get the feeling of euphoria from bodily damages as a result of rivalry among the different cults. While many cult members have had their regrets, many youths still push for it and they continuously loom in this darkness.

But why all of these when the literacy level is increasing? Since it is easy to outclass and possibly deceive a stupid and illiterate person, how come one cannot use the knowledge to kick against cultism. Do they even had the thought of getting rid of it at all? To answer thee questions, we will take a look on Nigeria institutions.

UNIVERSITY AND CULTISM

The University is usually a last resort, a place of solace, a place where the problems of the country is discussed when all means had failed. The university is the brain of the country. But this brain had failed to function properly, it had failed to detect and interpret stimuli, and possibly correct them. It had failed to bring it to the obvious truth that cultism is a stumbling block to development of the Nigerian youth. While we wait for nothing but an immediate eradication of cultism, the tunnel is getting darker.

Students in higher institutions are forced to join different cults through many ways. It could be that they had to join the cults for protection from oppression within the school premises or for some other reasons best known to them. Bully is one common lifestyle in school. Many students are faced with the constant pressure to join cultism all through their stay in school. For some who refused the proposal, a bad end looms.

Despite the obvious fact that cultism find solace in higher institutions, eradicating cultism by the school authority is something yet to be done. However, there are still some gleams of hope. All will be well.

Some lecturers are key members of cultism. Many of them are part of everything done in cultism. Some of these lecturers are bold enough to tell at your face "I am going to fail you!"

Most of these kinds of lecturers outrageously have carnal knowledge of many of the young students in order to pass exams. If any student tried to make complaints regarding these dubious behaviour of the lecturers, the students are likely digging their own grave. "What a world!"

This clearly credit the fact that our school needs REFORMATION. A total cleansing of the system of things in school, the outright denunciation of cultism, and the proclamation that cultism is dead will make room for greater improvement and subsequent development in all ramifications.

Even though school is not what it should be, our education is still intact. Our education will speak for us, it will lead to the obvious greater heights we aspire for. Irrespective of our different societal class, ethnic groups, religion, level of education, level of literacy, there is still hope.

When there is life, there is hope.

Nice one D", an advice for the Nigeria youth of today, I lost my elder brother due to cultism, only the wise youth with goals and vision for the future will flee from such activity, cultism does not pay, but steemit does.

I am so sorry for your loss. Cultism is truly a master killer among the Nigerian youth. I hope it ends soon.

Those who choose to engage in cultism have their selves to blame because I do no see any gain in it.

That's true. There is never any gain in engaging in cultism.

Cultist is an old school, it is sbd that is reigning now... Youth should focus their time and talent in cult of steemit....bcos it is more profitable.

Hahaha, that's funny. And yes, you are correct.

They need to invest their talents here on steemit. If not, they will continue to loom in the dark of the dark.

Good info and knowledge.
People should know that cultism doesn't pay

Yes, cultism is very bad. Young people should stop engaging in cultism.

I lost a friend to cultism and the next month his friend joined the cult to avenge his death.it was so funny and disheartening at the same time. I really wonder what they gain from all these . I'm beginning to think cultism has a spirit behind it. We really create awareness.

I am sorry for your loss. The awareness to stop cultism will much good for every youth.

Yes, I think you are right to say that there is a spirit behind it. Hopefully, that spirit can succumb to defeat with collective effort.

@dennisdaniel

Thanks for this awesome post. Cultism really isn't a good thing. I know many ex-cultists who regretted ever joining the unholy gang. Their lives seem irreparable.

Yeah, their lives can turn to become irreparable.

I hope things change for good.

Though it seem the presence of cultist have reduced compare to a decade ago but they're still very much around. People need to know what they're getting into. Thank for this

You are welcome. It would be great of they reduce to zero.

Thank you very much @steemnaira community

The most childish group in life withou aim is cultism.

Yes, and I hope our youth come out in the darkness of cultism.

That much practice of cultism in Nigeria?? We are lucky that in our country, we do not face such things. Reality is that I think it is near impossible to eradicate this practice because people involve themselves in this with firm belief.
"No to cultism"

Yes, that's true. I would love to see that kind of luck in our country too. Hopefully, the luck may shine someday.
