When we moved last Summer, it wasn't for a bigger house, or a better house, it was because the house we were in was not our house. It was his, my husband's, which had also belonged to his ex with him once upon a time. The lingering energy prevented me from feeling at home. Besides, we needed to move closer to his job, which happens to be closer to mom ;) I found a house, decent looking, though I'd like to change the front someday to a Tudor style, but those are details). I looked it up at the beginning of March and it remained available until end of June. It was our house, that I found and we chose together. I put in my energy as we painted the walls. We decorated (still a year alter, not all painting have been put up haha). It had the rooms we needed, and we arranged the space to fit. It FEELS good. It's not the biggest, it's not the prettiest. We still have yet to put in a garden and some more trees, but it's our house. One year later, I'm still amazed that I'm in this house. It's perfect for me and to me.
Sometimes we go driving in a section we call "les chateaux" where there are mansions, on the other side of the lot, the mansions look like castles, huge estates. It's fun to look at from the outside. We wonder what it looks like inside. But imagine having to vaccuum in those mansions? I have trouble keeping up with the dishes as it is! Imagine having to mow the lawn? All that terrain. Frank would not agree to do that. I'd get lost in a house like that. Sure there are plenty of places to film videos, but the way to be efficient is to choose a corner (in my office) and I leave my camera there most of the time. I have my set-up. I don't need a bunch of other places, I have my little corner. Cozy. OH, and those mansions are not at walking distance of any shopping center or corner shop or liquor store. Forget that :p I'm good in my bungalow.
From your description, it sounds like the bungalow is the place to be. I don't like mansions either. If you've got a family of 25 living there, great! I would walk through lots of mansions when I did locations work in tv/film and just could not understand why people would need such extravagance, other than for the purpose of bragging or throwing huge parties. But, who am I to judge. To each their own. That chateaux may have had a big area to film your videos but....you could just as easily go to a park, or hike in the woods....and you wouldn't need to spend $1,000 a week on landscaping. :) Thanks for the comment @binkyprod
