San Rafael de El Moján. It is the Capital of the Municipality Mara, The first settlers of the region were the Indians paraujanos. It is said that among them lived the healer or piache Mohán, whose fame was so great that Indians from places as remote as the Andes and other regions came to consult him. Legends of the place assure that the conquerors who came to these lands were treated with the piache Mohán. The pronunciation of Mohán, degenerated in Moján. In writings it is indicated that Mohán was the generic name to designate all the healers of the region, reason for which the name was adopted. The "mohanes" were healers with practices of sorcerers who acted as doctors when the Spaniards arrived.

In our lake of Maracaibo there was one that enjoyed such fame, so much so, that the neighboring tribes came to him. This gentleman lived in a palafito and by his name the place was baptized: "El Moján". And still it is known to the capital of the municipality Mara. San Rafael Arcángel is the patron of the population, hence the full name of this is San Rafael de El Moján.

The name of this town is Mojanero, although to a lesser degree it is also known as Mojanense. Because San Rafael de El Moján is located within the Mara Municipality, al Mojanero is also known as * Marense * What is currently San Rafael de El Moján, was made up of possessions that had been given for the rearing of goats by Real Cédula and sowing of coconuts. At first we did not have enough confidence, we were very mechanical, from one rhythm to another from one song to another, but after seeing that the crowd made involuntary movements in their legs with all the desire to dance, we had the confidence that lack to enjoy and improvise songs, since the journey was somewhat extensive.

We improvised a phrase to make known the name of our group, it was this; And it's here ... and it's here ... Samba and drum ... Kizumba .. seeing that the crowd was singing along with us the exhaustion was disappearing, filling us with energy, so much energy that we had a mishap with the maso of one of the instruments (It came off at the junction of the two parts of the maso, Cape and head) but thanks to the help of the organizers and the quick action to find a solution we found plastic tape and I was able to keep it fixed without problems while the boys were still without me. But we continued to give flavor to the parade, there were moments that we lacked the voice several times, but we could finish the event with success!
