Gwanghee Gate seems like the people's gate, @slowalker. It's in the poorest section of Seoul and is used for funeral processions.
Anyone living near a wall and especially near a gate is going to have constant disruption. The wealthy are not going to build their homes there.
In a way this gate is a symbol of the lot of the poor. The only way out of their poverty was a funeral and ironically, they probably couldn't afford a funeral procession.
The painting on the ceiling of the gate house is exquisite, @slowwalker, and you managed to capture its vibrant colours. It is in the style of other ceilings in gate houses, along with the ever-present dragons.
This well-preserved art contrasted with the ruin of the wall which had been all but obliterated in places and actually cut through to make a lane for traffic!
Your theme of blessing and curses is very evident in this photo essay today, my friend.
