This kenduri is a tradition commonly practiced by farmers in Aceh after the harvest and before returning to work the rice fields.

One of the local wisdom of Aceh that still exists until now is the implementation of blessed majesty (kenduri down the fields). Blank event is usually done blond before descending into the fields.

All the people who have rice fields and want to plant rice, first participate to hold events keunduri. This community participation is based on the order from keujruen blang (aceh adat institution that specializes in the field of rice field). Keujruen blang as chairman in the field of rice field will give a signal on two weeks before the farmers descend into the fields.

Keunduri that is held before descending into rice fields accompanied by prayers aims to make farmers' rice free of diseases and pests that endanger the plants. The whole community of gampong and the farmers and the surrounding villagers are invited to enjoy the merdury together. The number of people invited according to the amount of food available. The prayer readings are led by ustaz and santri from the dayahs around.

In ancient times, this tradition was a record for ethnic Acehnese farmers. Form the implementation of the gratitude and hope of the farmers to the khaliq for the successful harvest and blessings. The term in this tradition is a conversion of Hindu culture which already existed in Indonesia, including in Aceh, but by mengislamisasinya, this tradition is a community activity seen by fiqh scholars and tasawuf experts in Aceh.

Ratusan petani di Gampong Gampong Nibong Baroh, Kecamatan Nibong, Aceh Utara, menyelenggarakan kenduri Turun kesawah.

Kenduri ini, selain dapat makan bersama, juga sebagai kegiatan untuk mempererat silaturahmi sesama petani agar senantiasa kompak dalam bergotong-royong membersihkan irigasi yang tersumbat usai panen, hal tersebut di sampaikan oleh Geuchik Gampong Nibong Baroh Khairdir.

Kenduri ini merupakan tradisi yang umumnya dilaksanakan petani di Aceh usai panen raya dan sebelum kembali mengerjakan sawahnya.

Keanekaragaman budaya dan kebiasaan tersebut masih dilakukan secara turun temurun sampai sekarang. Bahkan generasi muda Di Aceh sekarang banyak yang tidak mengetahui sejak kapan kebiasaan itu dimulai.

Salah satu kearifan local Aceh yang masih eksis hingga sekarang adalah pelaksanaan keunduri blang (kenduri turun sawah). Acara keunduri blang biasanya dilakukan menjelang turun ke sawah.

Semua masyarakat yang memiliki sawah dan hendak menanam padi, terlebih dahulu berpartisipasi untuk mengadakan acara keunduri. Keikutsertaan masyarakat ini didasarkan atas perintah dari keujruen blang (lembaga adat aceh yang khusus mengurusi di bidang persawahan). Keujruen blang sebagai ketua di bidang persawahan akan memberikan aba-aba dua minggu menjelang para petani turun ke sawah.

Keunduri yang dilaksanakan menjelang turun ke sawah yang disertai dengan doa-doa bertujuan supaya padi petani bebas dari penyakit dan hama yang membahayakan tanaman. Seluruh masyarakat gampong dan petani serta warga gampong sekitarnya diundang untuk menikmati keunduri secara bersama-sama. Jumlah masyarakat yang diundang sesuai dengan jumlah makanan yang tersedia. Pembacaan doa dipimpin oleh ustaz dan santri dari dayah-dayah di sekitar.

Pada Zaman dulu kala, tradisi ini merupakan sebuah kewajiban bagi etnis petani Aceh. Bentuk implementasi terhadap rasa syukur dan pengharapan para petani kepada sang khaliq agar hasil panen nantinya berhasil dan memperoleh berkah. Walaupun pada dasarnya tradisi ini merupakan konversi dari budaya hindu yang sudah lebih dulu eksist di Indonesia termasuk di Aceh, namun dengan mengislamisasinya, maka tradisi ini merupakan kegiatan masyarakat yang dipandang boleh oleh para ulama fiqh dan ahli tasawuf di Aceh.
