Continuing with my previous post, I will now explain to you some investigations about the possible reasons why you get to commit a crime:
Factors for which a crime is committed
There are different factors by which a person becomes a criminal, we will focus on the three groups of factors proposed by Redondo (2008). This author considers that the risk of committing a crime is determined by three factors:
"Alpha" factor: This is based on psychobiological factors such as neurotransmitters (GABA or dopamine, among others, endocrine drugs such as testosterone, referring to neuropsychological problems, etc). These factors develop during childhood and in the same is that they begin to manifest, in childhood can be developed in the individual impulsivity, emotional lability, punitive parenting style, coercive or negligent, exposure to criminal models, traumatic experiences in the childhood, psychopathologies of parents, etc.
"Beta" Factor: It refers to dynamic factors that are those related to the current criminal motivation, a person can develop a criminal behavior when in his childhood he obtained an affective lack and in turn the subject will have the same characteristic, apart from this characteristic he will have poor emotional self-control, addictions, favorable beliefs towards crimes, etc.
Opportunity factor: the greater the availability of objects and possible vulnerable victims, the greater the likelihood of committing a crime. That is, when a criminal observes a more vulnerable subject, he or she will be the first to attack.
