To get to the Tae Go Sa temple was not easy.
Tae Go Sa Temple was located deep in the mountain. The road to the temple was made with trees, but it was slippery due to the rain.
Climbing for a while, I saw a big rock behind the trees.
As I turned around the rock, I could see the red engraved letters on the rock. It means ‘stone gate’ literally. It was written nearly four hundred years ago.
Only one person could barely pass through the stone gate.
When I passed through the stone gate, there was a pile of rocks. People may have built up little stones to make their wishes come true. I put a stone on there.
Turning around the pile of rocks, I saw the entrance of the temple.
The rain-wet road seemed to show me how difficult the seeker's path was.
Almost at the top of the mountain, Tae Go Sa was located.
The scene in the mist was fantastic.
It was mysterious that there was this temple under the summit of Daedunsan.
I could see the summit of the mountain from the temple.
I looked down the mountains from the temple. All the mountains seemed to greet to the temple. They said that that’s the reason why they had built the temple at first.
Strangely enough even though I was tired of climbing, my mind was in peace and I felt comfortable. (continued)
So beautiful. That seems quit the hike @slowwalker
Although the road upside is sometimes difficult, but the reward that awaits on the top always surpasses all the inconvenience.
yes that's right
This really stuck with me.
It seems like the perfect spot to explore, and meditate up there in the temple, surrounded by mountains. I'd love to visit.
I'm also fascinated by the stone gate and the carved letters - they look so perfect although they are 400 years old!
Really it was fantastic.
The schollar who wrote that letters was one of the most famous in Korea.
Pretty cool!
beautiful would love to take a walk there
Nice shot buddy, seems to have a hard effort to get to Tae Go Sa Temple. very beautiful because along the way we always appreciate the beauty of nature, and also the caves here. If I may know how long we pass this ladder in order to get to Tae Go Sa Temple @slowwalker??
your post is very good, I hope one day I can get to a beautiful place like this. Thanks for the posting you today @slowwalker.
It takes 2 hours from bottom to the temple
Are you sure ??
I'm sure it must have been a very tiring journey, but I am also sure sense of tired you have lost due to this view that as good as @slowwalker
a temple in a cliff with a steep path and a narrow gate that only admits one...very profound, @slowwalker. You climbed up a slippery path in the rain to see the misty vista.
Heraclitus said, "the way up and the way down are the same" He goes on to say, "In us the living and the dead, wakefulness and sleep, youth and old age, are one and the same: for the ones are changed into the others, and reciprocally."
So the temple is a physical embodiment of a parable of human life. Your pebble placed among the wishes of others is a yearning for happiness, and yet it is simple. We need only yield to the miracle of being alive and paying attention to the life around us.
You celebrate the wonders of life everyday in your posts, @slowwalker.
Thank you for your comment.
You comment make me think more on my journey
I'm glad, @slowwalker
Amazing!
Wow, that seems like such a beautiful trail to follow to get to the temple!
Thank you for sharing. When I read the post it reminds me how young a country the US really is. You can visit castle in Europe that took longer to build than the US is old. I see your photos and think what life was like and here we are passing through a moment in time. This isn't the first empire to fall...not even the first time a currency falls -- your photos remind me of history that is hidden.
You read more and better than my posting, lol.
Thank you
