In general, the weapon "Rincong" is a traditional weapon of Aceh, Indonesia. This traditional weapon began to be used by the people of Aceh since several centuries ago. Its function at that time, for weapons of war and also as identity. However, "Rincong" also has various types.
In this post I will show "Rincong" with type "Rincong Pirak". "Rincong Pirak" which I show in this post is a collection from Tgk Yusdedi, chairman of traditional institution in Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province, Indonesia.
Tgk Yusdedi explains, in general, "Rincong Pirak" is the same as "Rincong" ordinary. Only the size is smaller and the whole is from silver.
According to Tgk Yusdedi, "Rincong Pirak" has been used in Aceh since the 13th century.
But for "Rincong Pirak" specifically used the children of nobility. Its function is for self-identity only.
In my previous post, I also explained about two other Aceh historical objects, namely "Siwah" made of elephant ivory, "Tanglong 7 Mata" is a lighting device in the noble house, "Rincong Meupucok", "Sudahan" and "Chok Ranup".
