Do you drink coffee? If so, are you a strictly make-it-yourself kinda guy? If NOT, bragging rights to you if you can somehow use that to compliment the person behind the counter next time you buy a cup...Or you can use it as a low-key insult if they suck...the quest (SIDE quest) is really just to use it.
Ah shit! So far I've been staying as close as possible to being true to the original - it's very close to finished - tonight I will be working out some of the final details to make it pop a bit, which could be the perfect opportunity. I was also thinking, since I'm new to coloring things, I'd get some pics along the way, and go crazy experimental once I've got the "official" version digitized. Ultimately it's not what's on the paper that's important, only the digital copy, so I can even totally wreck it and still have basically a save point to revert to...I was thinking about playing with acrylic paint pens at the end, and this might be just the way to do it. Point is, there will likely be a couple options when it's done - and by the way, I wouldn't hold it against you if you decided you still prefer your original.

What I appreciate most about my avatar, other than the obvious—my wife and my initials, is the heart. It's so powerful in the image yet hardly noticeable until you concentrate on it. The whole aura of the subject in the image, the double helix and its entirety, everything's glowing cuz of it.
I appreciate that. At this point, we'll just see how it shakes out. I definitely want to put out one version that honors the original to the greatest extent possible though, and this actually helps...if I can get my hands to reproduce the image forming in my mind anyway...
