This was a master piece, but like i stated on the post, the images used where not sourced neither did she state they are originally hers, this might not be a big deal though but it is good to get things straight, also she gave a brief history about the place without letting us know where she got such interesting history from.
Aside this things, i think it was master piece.
For your interest as a curator, i don't think that post can be submitted for curie simply because of the fact that the account doesn't meet up with curie requirements, as the account is just two days old and she already has a post with $20 pending payout thus it will be difficult to say that she is consistent without much success. Cheers!
So here is the thing with citing sources. If you make a factual claim that is not common knowledge it is best practice to cite a source, and if you use an image that you do not own copyright to you have to cite a source. But when you use your own photography you don't have to source. See my comment to @lavidaesunviaje RE my own assessment of this post's quality - in short, "good" but not quite up to the very high bar the reviewers hold travel posts to. You do definitely point out something that would make this a risky submission even if the post was exceptional - it is less likely to be approved as the 3rd post ever from the poster, with the intro post earning decently. However, it is important to note here that a truly exceptional post is always worth submitting to the reviewers and will most likely be upvoted. Ultimately the guidelines are there to help curators find exceptional posting, but they are just guidelines - they are not law that the reviewers have to follow. The reviewers will almost always bend the guidelines to upvote a truly exceptional post.
For me I think the post loses something because of the language difference with the author being German and writing in English. Not to be a stickler, but the grammar and lack of capitalizations in appropriate areas also takes some away from it for me. That could just be me personally though.
I do however think the post is moderately entertaining and the photos are great. As for the sourcing mentioned in the other comment - I believe that in the context of the post itself that it is safe to assume they are all her original photos, especially since her and her friends appear in nearly half of them. I know whenever I write a post using my own photos I don't feel the need to source them. Also the bit of information about the area she gives I also doesn't need a source as much of it could be considered more common knowledge, or even something one of the locals shared with her on her trip.
Yeah for your own original vacation photography and the kind of information that you learn on a trip you don't need to source. It is good to note here though that as a curator, you don't assume the pictures are original. I always reverse Google image search at least a few pictures from a post, and did so here. Not surprisingly Google didn't turn up any matches, but there have been many times when a "travel" post turned up stock photography when I searched the images in this manner. Agreed with your assessment of this post, pretty much spot on. It is a good post, not a truly exceptional post. The writing is not exceptional. The photography is good but not professional. This is a good post but probably not the level of exceptional that a Curie reviewer is looking for in the travel category. Travel is one of the most competitive categories and only the most exceptional posts will be upvoted per the guidelines. In specific the guidelines caution against submitting posts if the travel is not very recent (this is from last year) or if the photography is not professional quality (while the pictures are nice none of them really jumped out and grabbed me and the overall impression I got was not of a professional photographer). There would have to be something else really exceptional about this post considering it is old travel and the photography is not truly exceptional, and I don't see it.
But to be clear - this is a VERY good post. For travel in particular, the bar is raised very high. I upvoted the post through r-bot - it is a good find and she is a poster to keep an eye on for sure. Keep 'em coming :)

this is a very interesting one, we all have that one thing that stresses us out, for some it might be their job, kids, parents or even wife/husband. nice job mate!
I would like to become Curie Curator. And I think I have only one reason for that. For me it is sad to see trending section of any Tag be full of posts with 55+ reputation and I don't think the reason for this is because of a low quality of posts from lower reputation users, the reason is that they are not getting enough attention, which they deserve. And by becoming curie curator I would be able to help at least few to shine. Sorry for not saying that I'm interested in being curator with the dropped link. Should I find another post as new entry?
Read my feedback to @kalam here - there are some red flags in the text. It is not enough for a post to be interesting, we are looking for "exceptional" posts to submit to Curie :)

First I will totally agree that the trending pages here are not a very diverse reflection of Steem users and Steem posting. I think the main trending page is usually pretty sad, to be honest. The post you linked is pretty good but I wouldn't say exceptional. There are some typos and grammar issues, and just generally it is not exceptional writing. While I was not able to turn up a match using Google to search paragraphs of text, there are some funky phrasings that lead me to believe this may be a case of translating an article from another language (which Google typically does not catch).
Check this sentence out:
Here are some of the features of people who do not like the goodwill friends like them:Huh? That doesn't make sense. A few sentences after that one:
Pushing your friends to do things that Milli does not have.Again - huh? You often see this kind of nonsense in text that has been translated by a software tool - strange word choices, phrases that don't make any sense, etc. Even if this is original, and not translated from a foreign language source, it is not good writing.
While the images are sourced, it seems like many if not most of them are taken from sources that do not appear to be open source. Simply providing a source for an image does not make it okay to use that image - images need to be from a free use source like wiki commons or pixabay.
Good to see you noticed the grammatical errors - to me they seem to go beyond just English as a second language and are a bit of a red flag for potential auto-translate plagiarism, but even if that is not the case the writing is simply not exceptional. Good eye :)
hello Carl, i am interested in being a curator for curie, i found this educative post from an author who has been around for about 3 months now but hasn't been having much success. in this post @mikay talked about some basic health tips while citing Menstrual Cramps - Dysmenorrhea, he also went further to give some few tips on how we can increase our I.Q.

This isn't the kind of post that Curie is looking for, for many reasons. First it is a very disjointed post - three totally unrelated things. The first section RE menstrual cramps just rephrases some information from the source - as I mentioned in a comment to one of your posts on your blog, just changing some words around so that you are not phrasing something exactly the same as your source does not mean you are writing anything original. The second section, the name for that technique is not the "Heimlion Maneuver", it is the "Heimlich Maneuver". This might be useful information if a reader has never heard of this (although honestly I feel this is pretty common knowledge) but I don't think it is exceptional in any way. The last section may be the worst. First there is no source listed for the study that is referenced. I went ahead and looked up the study - here is a link for reference: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10339-016-0789-y The poster claims that this study demonstrated a "New way to test IQ". That is really not what the study is at all, it is certainly not an IQ test. I have read the original article. Just because there is a correlation between higher verbal and nonverbal intelligence and appreciation of black humor, it does not mean that you could use black humor as an IQ test. Check out the kind of posts that Curie upvotes if you need examples of what exceptional posting looks like - this was pretty far off.

thanks once again for the correction @humanbot, the steemit community is blessed with so much unique and original contents, the ability to identify them it's what it takes, thus i just came across this mind blowing post from the new-howto category, the post is from an author who has been around for about 18days now, and has not gotten the privilege to earn up to $5, the post is quite similar to the one that got me a curie upvote few weeks ago. in this post @vikebun gave a very interesting and detailed tutorial on how to design a house and even a car in it. as a 3d animator, this is not an easy tutorial to make, and as such i think he deserves a curie upvote for the originality and hardwork.

This is definitely a better post than your previous submission. I had actually found this post myself and upvoted with my own account and @r-bot (the @r-bot vote trail isn't working currently unfortunately so I can manually add my own vote but the rest of the trailing votes aren't coming through). It is well written and informative. The quality of the images is really terrible, it looks like the poster used a (bad) cell phone camera to take pictures of the screen instead of just using screencap to obtain a high res image. The same post if illustrated with screen caps that were as well done as the ones you had in your own post, might have been worth a curie submission :) Keep on hunting, find me a REALLY exceptional post. A post with no obvious weakness and something really interesting and exceptional about it. Good luck and happy hunting!
alright @carlgnash, the hunter is here again, just brought another interesting hunt from the howto tag, @goldenheart who's a consistent and unsuccessful minnow and has been around for about 13 days, did a very interesting post on 3D animation using a more complex software that i can barely use, this is a very original and unique content from a minnow, ladies are not really as hardworking as this so i believe she deserves extra credit.

Hello, @humanbot, I find this post quite entertaining because the author found a way, to make his idle time at work become pretty productive in a sense, and also, the way this post was authored is something I can see mostly in pro blogger sites only. @votetanding the author content you submitted is already too successful for curie and in addition to that according to @curie guideline a post most not have made a payout more than $3 upvote within 24hrs
the current Curie guidelines are $10 max payout - if a post is over $10 you can't submit it, but if it is under $10 you can
The guidelines have changed quite a bit in the last month, reflecting the increase in price of STEEM and the corresponding inflated payouts we are seeing. This author hasn't seen any major reward, a few posts in the $10 - $15 range but many posts finishing under $5, and he consistently makes good quality posts. For future reference, this kind of author history is absolutely fine for Curie, this is a quality post by a quality poster. Cheers - Carl
First, I like this author a lot - I already follow him. I have considered some of his posting previously for Curie, and have upvoted a lot of his stuff. This is an exceptional post I think and the author consistently delivers exceptional posts with no major reward. I probably would have submitted this if I had checked this while post was still within first day. Wonderful first submission! Actually yes, you're right, this author is exceptionally good in writing, specially his humor, though he makes serious-ish kinds of post, he still finds it in him to mix in a little sense of humor which makes him connect more to his audience. Although this post is nearing it's payout period so I don't intend to share this for evaluation, the point is this is one fine, undervalued author right here, not to mention he not only make such kind of article, he also write note worthy, heart-rending poems. I actually enjoy reading his poems. It would be great if this author would be featured in your curie curations, It would be a waste to see this kind of person perish due to disappointment from being underrated. Though lately I think he's doing fine based on his recent posts.

Thanks for the info in the chat. I would like to become a Curator. I heard about Curie in a video about an entirely different topic and decided to check it out. I love what the Guild does. I always like things that help those who might remain unrecognized get some attention. Here on SteemIt it seems even more important. I haven't been here for very long, but have seen some talented writers doing interesting and entertaining posts that no one ever sees. Of course then there are a bunch of not so good posts that get a bunch of attention. I'd like to help in finding those diamonds in the rough.
Here is the post I tried proposing before knowing how it worked. (It is still eligible if you like it and want to submit it yourself.)
This author just joined this month and has already jumped to over 40 experience through engaging with others. She has over 180 posts, mostly comments. Her 16 posts so far are good and use a wide range of topics from her yoga, to singing, and about her book. This post brings in her own life experiences, and one that I think many will relate to. None of her posts have gotten much attention to this point, which is a shame. It definitely seems like she will be good for the community over time.

This is a great post, one I would have seriously considered submitting if I had seen this when you commented here. In the past I might have considered this a little too short and lacking in effort, but the new guidelines have made it clear that the quality of the post, engagement it is likely to create and value it adds to Steem are the criteria, not the length and effort required to make the post. In that light I think I could have made a good argument to the reviewer that this post was exceptional and would generate a good dialogue. The poster is also the exact kind of poster to look for - has been making quality posts, has several under her belt without major reward - wonderful submission! I gave it my full upvote. While it is totally fine to submit a bilingual post to Curie, the English language portion would have to be exceptional. Exceptions would be made if the primary device of the post was not writing; e.g. an amazing piece of music, or work of art, could be submitted with less than exceptional English text. But in a post like this where the writing is the only thing to distinguish the post, the English language section would have to be exceptional. The English language section here is pretty poorly translated from the Indonesian.

I am only replying because we were asked to comment on what we think of some of the submitted posts that @humanbot has not yet commented on so he can see how close our assessment would be to his own.
While I do find the story touching, and feel for the man telling it, I don't think it reaches Curie standards in a few ways. Many of the sentences and even some of the words are broken in one way or another. Parts were rather hard to follow. And all of this might just be my own personal opinions but... I feel that such a personal story was done little justice to not have personal photos. Perhaps a photo of his mom, or the two of them together. But instead it is totally random photos, many of which didn't make sense to me in the context they were used, and they are simply sourced as "from Google".
But again, I do see how the story touched you and made you want to submit it.
And remember my opinion doesn't matter in any way, just for the bot to see.
Absolutely correct in all respects. If indeed this story is the personal story of the author, it would have been much better served to be more... personal. And the writing is not even close to the Curie standard. And "Google" is not a permissible image source. I told you above to find me another exceptional post - skip that, let us just move straight to DMs, your responses in the comments here have been spot on . I definitely appreciate the willingness to put the time in curating to find and support new authors. This is a good post, but not an exceptional one. I gave it an upvote and the author an encouraging comment. There are a million tutorial posts online about how to boot from USB and while it is nice to have one written originally for Steem, there really isn't anything about this to set it apart or make it exceptional. Don't get me wrong -this is definitely a good post. It is not plagiarized, and the steps are easy to follow. But for the specific purposes of Curie curation, a post needs to go beyond just not plagiarized and not poorly written. "Exceptional" - what does this word mean? In the context of a post, it needs to have original thought, to have something amazing about it, something exciting - what is exciting or amazing about this post? Nothing. What is truly original, not in the "not plagiarized" sense, but in the creative sense? Nothing.

This is actually not original photography. I reverse Google image searched the very first image in the post, it is stock photography and appears on a ton of pages online. I checked out a more recent post by same poster and first image in that post was also stock photography. Even if you think a post is original, always remember to reverse Google image search at least a few of the images, as well as Google searching some random paragraphs of text.
I like this one too, the text is pretty good but not sure if you accept for curation, posts that have images that are not original... the images are not so important on this post and the author wrote down the source...

I gave this author an upvote and a follow - to me this is a good post but I don't see it crossing the "exceptional" bar. Just curious - did you really think this was exceptional personally, or was this just one of the best posts you found while looking? I ask this because there is a very real syndrome that afflicts curators - the "this post is not absolute shit so it must be exceptional" syndrome. When you are surfing through the seas of crap posting, a good, original post can sometimes seem like a diamond in comparison to its surroundings, but like that amazing pebble which you found on the beach, loses its sparkle when it dries off (is examined later on its own merits). I guess what I am saying is the first question to ask yourself is if you truly feel this post is exceptional. If the answer is no, then it is not a Curie submission. Of course, you may have truly felt this to be exceptional - in which case we are in subjective territory.
Definitely i wouldn’t call it exceptional... maybe good enough to float over the big mass...

To be clear, you absolutely can submit a post that is good not exceptional here for more exposure and I may upvote as I did in this case. I was referring in specific to Curie and your interest in Curie curation :)

Ah here you go :) This is exceptional, no doubt about it in my mind. I would have submitted this to Curie if I had seen it in time. This guy is a quality photographer, and he captured some magical shots in that post. He has received only one halfway decent reward ($20 something this week) but the rest of his posting has received very little reward. I have added him to my Curie follow query and am sure I will be able to submit a post from him soon. Great find!

Hi, in a post like this that presents a ton of factual information, there needs to be sources cited for the information itself, and not just for the images. RE the images, images that are not owned by the post author should be sourced from free use sources like pixabay or wiki commons. Simply providing an image source link when it is not to a free use source is not enough.
Whether or not this article is a direct copy/paste, it is almost certainly just a rewrite of information about the San from some other source - e.g. Wikipedia, etc.

I would like to become a curie curator. I am an active member of the steemit community and I run the @healthy-home curation account. I will primarily be curating in the following 3 categories:
I have been running the @healthy-home account for less than one month, but have been active on Steemit for over 6months. I started and promoted the #steemoween Halloween holiday community event.
I look forward to seeing Steemit grow into a thriving and respected community platform.
My submission for today was found while curating for @healthy-home. It is borderline for a @curie curation this time because it would be the author's third. And with my upvotes(@em3, @healthy-home, @ausbitbank<healthy-home trail>), it is over $8.00 currently; at 17hrs age.
Still, I believe it is worth a look.
He has been curie'd twice before, but in different subjects. One was adventure and photography, and Two was gardening.
Over the last two weeks his highest paying post was $21, and his last 7 days total is less than $75. The most recent curie was over 30 days ago.
This post on rendering tallow is well written and engaging. It follows a natural conversational flow and provides enough instructive detail that someone can easily learn from and reproduce the process.
