I agree, there is so much on steemit that is worthy of the upvote that in no time flat my upvote becomes worthless. And it is so hard to NOT upvote some things.
re:FB - If it weren't for my job (social media mgr for small business) I'd never set my eyes on facebook again. I stopped scrolling there months ago. If it doesn't come up at the top of the feed, it's not there for me. Like you I still use their messenger to talk to some folks in my family who live continents away.
I'm hoping decentralization is the true core of this effort at steem(it). Zuckerdude wasn't always the corporate behemoth he is now, although he never earned my respect even that far back. When we reach millions of steemians, I hope we stay as we are now. Joining with folks like you I will work for that. Thanks for posting this.
Yes. Me too. If I weren't running a nonprofit and a group or two, I'd probably NEVER go to Fakebook... Though the Messenger service is pretty topnotch.
I totally agree. I hope decentralization is where it's at. Sure, there are issues popping up daily with this, but what new idea DOESN'T have issues?
I still think that while Steemit is an alternative to Facebook (and other social media), it's not a complete replacement. I still think it (facebook) could exist. It's just not for me. LOL!
