You have no idea how thankful I am when those pleasant auto-votes coming in, knowing that a few people appreciate what message I have on my blog.
So, I agree with you and I do both. Manual voting when I have the time for and controlled autovoting for my favourite authors or the ones who need a kickstart, my support. I also choose to give nice rewards on every single comment on my posts and also add them to my list. The moment I see their content is not good, I take them off and add others.
PS: Thank you for clarifying your approach. I like and understand it.
Although I do not like bot voting to much, I hear you wrt time to spend on Steemit to be able to find those posts that deserves a vote. Bots can help filtering for later manual voting, but the algorithms implemented are favouring post that get attention in the first 30-60 minutes. Maximum support is therefore given when casting the vote within the first hour of the post, maybe even within the first half hour of a post. That is not manageable without automation. However, when we take the time out of the equation and give support without looking at any other dynamic of the platform other than giving our vote value to the author of the post and comment, manual voting based on filtered posts lists is possible IMHO. The other side of the medal is, when we use more and more bots, Steemit will become a bot network; Bots voting; Bots Posting. Steemit becoming a Bot network is maybe unavoidable, but I like the think that we should not let that happen, we should try and find ways Steemit stays human dominated. Maybe we should create more curation teams such as Curie to whom we provide our vote power to. Indeed make those teams you talked about in your video. More of them, Many more of them.
You make an interesting case. But authors write to be read, not just paid. This is all new to me, not only steemit but bots too. I can see your point, but I don't know.
Authors will get read and they will develop a followings that read every post. However large SP holders need beyond a limited set of their favourite authors for Steemit to be successful. That's where bots come in handy.
We all have a limited amount of time and I would rather have a bot vote for a content creator I think brings value to the platform than to have those rewards simple be wasted b/c I didn't have the time to be on the platform. Voting bots are still contributing to the platform. Is it ideal? No. But it's a solution to a problem for some users.
I think I like you a lot. This has to go the way of AI if this platform has to grow and has any worthwhile retention. People can't spend hours doing a post and getting 5 cents for it. You have to bring people in that have jobs and education and are are good in their fields to write on this platform. This platform may actually leave people feeling insulted when they see fantastic posts get nothing and a travel post from a pretty girl get thousands. BOTS with AI , fantastic idea
@nanzo-scoop I agree with you especially when someone is offline and his favourite author post something, then bot is ok. However it becomes bad when people abuse it by partnering with their buddies.
Totally agree... I like to access my steem voter every couple of weeks to check out each person individually again to see if the content is still good :) ... 3 posts today! haha... I have to go check my power just for today, getting little drained :)
That is a very good analogy, and good way to look at voting with bots. It's great you are supporting those Steemit users who are putting in effort to create good content!
I thought it a good analogy too, but at least those artists get heard in the market. Not true on steemit. If no one sees your post in the first 24 hours forget about it.
Yes, i had that bad feeling about writing things that will never be read... it is kinda odd.
But it is an instant news... so, it matters how many followers you have and if they read and resteem then it will go somewhere.
Huh, it is what it is. A new postings channel which should be linked with a personal website to have some informations be readable on long term.
We will manage in the near future to see if it is what we need or not.
You certainly have had experience with both (manual and bots), so your conclusions are important. I vote on all your posts manually, which is why I might miss one or two, but I get most of them. :)
I agree 101% I started using auto-curation after seeing that it was being used for me by some users. Just like you said, i have to review and sometimes just shut it off. The main reason is i allow my voting power to diminish. It also supports users that are committed to producing good content.
I resteemed this for others.. I like that you took time to explain about the bots.. because when you take humans out and it is automatic it is like a blind vote. I am thinking wow how can this work? I sort of see what you are saying from your angle. If that was all steemit was about then I would leave because then it is like the bot lotto, but for it to be that and more to other people who do take the time to be on the platform and actually read before voting that is great. I would never turn anyone from receiving money and continuing their journey. Thanks again for your post. voted up.. you got my pennies... and I am human...good job :)
Hey @nanzo-scoop , would love to offer to come onto my podcast sometime.
It is about people doing remarkable things, whether entrepreneurs or not.
Where we talk about what you are doing, believe in and what difference you are making in the world.

That's what makes sense, great approach.

Love your accent btw :)

Some days, you just gotta get stuff off your chest.
I am trying always to put up good content, every day, more than once a day for months now.
Thanks for all your work on here too, I know we do not talk much.
Maybe ever.
LOL
Lol... you certainly are putting the work in. I thank you for your commitment to the platform. Over 17k posts is some feat!

Good job, man! Your white beard looks great

They are known as #vlogs by most people - so I use that.
