Three weeks ago I wrote this post, introducing the Hive Archeology bot. HIVE Archeology is a personal bot that you run on your own system and that allows you to upvote (and reward) top-quality timeless HIVE content beyond its initial 7 day upvote window.
You can find HIVE Archeology on:
Last week I did a second post on this personal bot showing how the bot can be installed and run on a QNAP NAS using ContainerStation and Docker.
In this second post I also tried to promote the rewarding of timeless high quality content with HIVE Archeology by anouncing that I would reward a random user of the personal bot with 5 $HIVE every day for a week.
Unfortunately though, either no-one used the bot, or the people using it set the dev beneficiary share to zero so I couldn't see the usage and reward it.
So this week we are goint to try again. I'm increasing the daily reward for a random HIVE-Archeology user from 5 $HIVE to 10 $HIVE per day.
Let me outline the rules:
- Use HIVE Archeology as your personal bot.
- Dont set thye --tool-creator-share to zero. Setting it to one is OK though.
- Upvote above dust level, that is, your upvote using HIVE Archeology should be worth at least 0.02 $HBD.
- In the period from June 8 2023 untill June 14 2023, upvote timeless top quality HIVE content.
- On June 9 untill June 15, a random user will be picked by me as winner of the daily 10 $HIVE
- Don't run the bot on more than one account. I'll do basic checks for this, but many of you have multiple accounts that are in no way linked, so i need to ask, please don't cheat.
- The accounts @pibara, @croupierbot and @emrebeyler are excluded from the draw.
- Accounts that won the 10 $HIVE are excluded from the draw for the next 3 days.
- The competition will be extended with up-to three days if there are up to 3 days with no entries.
hiveblocks. To do that, search for "max payout 1,000 HBD".You can check up on other contestants, if any, by looking at @croupierbot on
I'll be looking at contestants in the same way each day, and that is the reason why you should not set the --tool-creator-share value to zero because if you do, i won't see it and you won't compete.
As for the draw. If there is more than one user for any given day competing, I'll use the blockchain as dice for picking the winner.
- I'll anounce the draw, listing the accounts competing. Each of the accounts in the list is implicitly assigned a number starting at zero for the first in the list.
- In the draw anouncement a future block number will be named, not too far in the future.
- When the anounced block number comes into existence, something like the following Pyhton code can be run:
from lighthive.client import Client
contestents = ["alice", "bob", "carol"]
block = 75572636
wsig = int(Client()("block_api").get_block_range(
{
"starting_block_num": 75572636,
"count":1
})["blocks"][0]["witness_signature"], 16)
winner = contestents[wsig % len(contestents)]
print("Winner:", winner)
By drawing the winner like this, the randomness of the draw will be validatable for all contestants.
I hope that this time the promotion of the use of HIVE Archeology will do better than last week. Give it a try folks. Install HIVE Archeology on you NAS or run it on your laptop while curating content, and above all, find some top content on the chain that is both timeless and top quality and upvote it while running HIVE Archeology.
The price money for each of the remaining days (15th/16th/17th of June) is now 23.456 $HIVE
Congratulations @pibara! You received a personal badge!
You can view your badges on your board and compare yourself to others in the Ranking
