Welcome to The Daily Sneak!!!

Come for the crypto, stay for the community!

The Daily Sneak is back, but on a new page with a more distinctive name! You can earn up to 5 SBD per accepted submission for guest curating The Daily Sneak. Submission requirements are published at the bottom of each edition of The Daily Sneak.

All too often we can witness trends in our age that might make us feel uncomfortable, that try to seed fear and that even seem to endanger our sense of autonomy and the self-determination we cherish. But if we get too caught up in the negativity of trends we may forget that they also force us to reevaluate who we are and what power we truly have.

@paradigmprospect invites you to explore a multitude of facets this week, about what it means to be a human being in these tumultuous times we find ourselves in, and how important it is to take the reigns of our lives back into our own hands!

[Expression] : Human ****ing beings

This bold piece screams human ingenuity and spirit! Some of us have started resembling a machine-like way of living in our modern times without quite noticing it. Our society praises machine-like qualities in human beings - efficiency, logic, ability to perform.

But wait... we are HUMAN BEINGS! We have qualities machines will likely never be able to get a hold of for themselves, no matter how well-written the algorhythms or how convincing their imitation of human behavior.

@calumam slams on the table lovingly, reminding us that there are aspects of being a human that are worth celebrating and focusing on. If we can't outperform machines in these defined and mathematically determinable aspects of being, maybe we want to find a way back to our original qualities that show the spark of life that dwells inside us all.

RIP PayPal: 1998-2018

Guess this had to happen eventually. JP Morgan-owned Paypal introduces fixed fees to make small transactions pretty much unusable for most people who use it for day-to-day payments.

In his post, @beggars keeps us up to date with the company's recent madness-inducing changes to their business model that will hurt smalltime users more than anyone, and there is much more to the story than meets the eye. A lot of changes are happening behind the scenes, and as he rightly points out: the timing is more than interesting considering the far-reaching changes going on in the industry at this time.

Thanks for keeping us up to date man - anyone using paypal for small payments will want to check this article out!

Dark Secrets of the Dinosaur Media: Severing the Strings of Control

In this excellent article @canusapatriots collects many engaging insights into what people still refer to as "the media" - a largely set up and intelligence-agency controlled apparatus of spreading a narrative in favor of the powers that be, under the cover of educating people.

For many people, there eventually came a moment of realization that something with the news media can't be quite right - and thus forcing these former viewers to continue their search for information on their own. For many others however, the prevalence of the mainstream media is still so vast and unquestioned that I never get tired of featuring articles that showcase the media's complicity in steering the public discourse. We have ample sources today that have long brought the secret out into the open, so if you are still looking for hints as to why the media may not be what it purports to be - this article might be it.

Conclusion

@paradigmprospect brings his 'A Game,' finding some awesome articles that push the envelope and make us think about whether everything we think we know is actually true. Check out each article, share your comments, and let the authors know how what you think. For submitting these excellent articles and commentary, @paradigmprospect earn 3 SBD.

Each of these highlighted articles receives full upvotes and resteems from @thedailysneak. In addition, @thedailysneak sponsors featured writers for Steem Basic Income!

If you have previously submitted curation that was never published, please review the requirements and try again. We are always pleased to welcome new guest curators, and to welcome back former guest curators.

Steem Creators Conference

We had a great experience at the Steem Creators Conference! Check out #steemcreators to see all the amazing posts, photos, and video photage shared by the participants and attendees. You'll find some awesome content creators that you really don't want to miss out on!

Submission Requirements

On to the submission requirements for The Daily Sneak:

  1. You can choose from 2 to 5 articles for your entry. Submissions with only one selected article will be ignored.
  2. All articles chosen for curation need to have been published within the last 5 days before your entry. It may take time for me to publish your curation, and curated articles need to be within the reward window when your submission is published.
  3. You cannot submit your own post for curation. Selections from nsfw will not be accepted. We also check for plagiarism and only highlight authentic content.
  4. Selected posts should have less than $50 in total rewards and have not previously been curated by The Daily Sneak.
  5. We try to spread the love around, so while selections from authors that have been highlighted before are welcome, they might not be included if the author's last inclusion was recent. Similarly, if you include two articles from the same author in one submission, we will typically highlight only one of the two.
  6. Be sure to include your personal bio for me to introduce you to readers, and make sure that each selection has commentary. This can be just a few sentences about why you think the selection is worth our attention, or what is great about it - something that will make people want to click through the headline and check out the actual article. English is preferred, but other languages will be considered as long as English translation is included.
  7. Please use this web form to submit your entry. https://goo.gl/forms/VH2MGIMEgqZmd9ef1
  8. Including image links to the source article is not required (and we prefer to leave some mystery if photography is highlighted and the article has only one photo.) However, we like to include images in The Daily Sneak, and not including any image links may decrease the likelihood of your submissions being published.

If you include more than 2 articles in your submission and not all are approved for publication, your submission may still be published into an edition of The Daily Sneak, as long as at least 2 articles are approved. This could happen for several different reasons. If you are unsure why an article was cut, please review the submission guidelines again. If you are still unsure, feel free to ask politely why it was cut.

Submission Reward

A brief biography of each guest curator will be included in the edition that uses their submission. In addition, each guest curator will receive 1 SBD for each article from their submission that is highlighted in The Daily Sneak. That's up to 5 SBD for each accepted submission!

Right now @thedailysneak's upvote is not worth as much as we are paying for guest curation. Why do we pay so much for guest curation? We believe that quality curation is very important to Steem. Paying our curators well encourages them to spend more time reviewing content and picking out the best pieces!

Published commentary about articles are the !originalworks personal opinions of the guest curators, and may not represent the opinions of The Daily Sneak or its editor. USD earnings of guest curators are based on market price of SBD at time of publication. SBD prices are subject to change.
