Hey Creatives, we know you're out there!
Starting the first week of June, we will be gathering creatives, makers, and entrepreneurs for a weekly live promotion event on The Steem House Discord Server, hosted by @thatsweeneyguy! More details about this post promotion show will come in a future post.
As a lead up to that show, we'll be starting this curation series helping to share some of the wonderfully creative content we have here on the Block. From artists and crafters, to woodworkers, programmers, and everyone in between, we'll be scouting for the very best creative & entrepreneurial content Steemians have to offer!
Discord Post Promotion
In an effort to facilitate this, we have created 15 post promotion channels on our Discord, and many more will be added. Anyone is free to use these channels to post links to relevant posts, but these will not be "link-dump" channels, and there will be a few guidelines that are enforced.
First, and most importantly, make sure the posts you're sharing are relevant to the channel your posting them to.
If your post has nothing to do with the topic of the room, the message will be deleted.
Second, comment on someone else's post from the same topic, react to their message with any emoji. The only exception to this rule is if you are sharing a post that is not your own.
You will never be required to use your voting power in any other way than you choose, but if everyone shares just one bit of feedback with someone else when expecting the same, we can create real support, and help each other improve our skills and talents.
Finally, you will need to include a summary or short description of the post you are linking to. Just two or three sentences that might make someone interested in visiting your link.
These short descriptions will be included in our curation series if the post is featured, so write it as if you're talking to the whole creative community on Steemit!
We will be implementing and enforcing a "three-strikes" system,
Violations of these guidelines will lead to the revocation of your privilege to use our promotion channels. The first "strike" will be a simple warning. A second strike will find your permissions suspended for 72 hours. Persist to abuse these channels, and you'll find yourself unable to use our promotion channels for a minimum of one month. We simply ask that everyone follow the very few guidelines we have put in place.
Curators & Promotion Moderators
Any time you share a post by someone else, you will earn 1 "Curation Point". At the end of the month, curation points will be tallied, and 100 STEEMHOUSE tokens will be shared among curators, based on how many points each has. We are working on setting up the Tatsumaki Discord Bot to aid in point tracking, among many other things. The three Steemians at the top of this list at the end of each month will earn a bonus of 10 STEEMHOUSE tokens, and will acquire the "Curator" role within our community.
We will also be scouting dependable Steemians to join our team as Promotion Moderators, or "Promo-Mods" for each promotion topic. These people will help us keep the promotion channels from being abused, and will be paid for their services on a weekly basis. More details on this position will be posted at a later date, and for now, our Facilitators will do most of that work. The top curator of every month will be given the first chance to join this team of Mods, as they will have proven their dedication to the community through merit.
This is great! I know this platform has a ton of creative people who are trying to get their creations into the view of folks on steemit.
Will there be someplace to ask or get a better idea if a post belongs in one category or another? I am working on some Raspberry Pi and solar projects.
Those would both be great topics for the #technology channel!
I'll change the 'Show & Tell Rules' channel to include questions. Thanks for your feedback!
So I have to comment others to get their comments on my post??
You'll need to comment on at least one other person's link, yes. Though this does not guarantee that someone will comment on your post. Everyone is required to give feedback, but who they give feedback to is completely up to them.
We will never require anyone to use their voting power for something, but if by using the post promotion, we expect to receive a little extra support and attention, the least we can do is provide some ourselves, right?
If there are no other posts in the topic you are sharing to, this rule can be looked over. Use of the rooms will grow over time, but for now, many of the channels are empty.
I like the idea, ofcourse you use the channel that is related in the content. Thanks for this, Im excited with this
Obviously very deep in the mind of the curation explanation.
