Hey, @acidyo, first of all, thanks for pointing out the problems. But this post contains some misconceptions, so I am commenting to clarify.
Let's take @ocdb for instance, it's quite a big account but the stake isn't mine.
Now let's assume @theycallmedan has asked me to help curating @threespeak content and authorized his posting key for me to use.
Here, you are both parties and have the power to handle both sides. But in my case, I am not. I curate from bdvoter and don't have any power to curate from SPL, so I don't have any influence over SPL late curation.
I have been with Splinterlands from the beginning, so I voluntarily offered my help with their curation activities, such as identifying abusers and farmers and improving the curation quality. I am sure all the Spl curators can vouch for that, and @azircon too.
After spending all this time with the SPL curation team, I found some reasons SPL curators can't keep up with 24 hours. First, there are 3 challenges run by the SPL team, where participants get support from the SPL curation account. Besides those, SPL also curates other SPL-related posts that are good/outstanding (even if those posts were not submitted to any of those challenges) & SPL doesn't pay any money to their curators, so they Upvote their curator's posts with large percentages weekly 2/3 times.
So, in short, the demand is higher than the supply. But here, I have tried to help in these cases; I curated from bdvoter so that they felt less pressure and could make up with the voting percentages, which will eventually reduce the gap and resolve the late upvote issue. Even that's happened many times ( like if you check some of their upvotes today, you will see they upvote between 24 hours because the queue gets shortened).
So, I want to clarify that I am not stealing anyone's reward. It would be stealing if they weren't aware of it, but in this case, it is not. Now, some may question why you only upvote splinterlands posts. No I curate outside splinterlands topic posts too. And I wasn't focused on splinterlands community curation earlier that much, As bdvoter firstly aimed to support Bangladeshi users & outside other community users too but several time some whales disrupted the curation and lured many of our bd users to go inactive. Like xbdvoter happens once (which @acidyo and other old users would know), and then one more whale downvoted massively to all bd users with his undercover account. I don't know what's the issue with them.Though past is past. So all this issue forced me to change my curation pattern. Now, either I can curate hbd.funder comment peacefully(that's what many whales are doing right now) or follow a curation project. But I didn't choose any of those. As I spend most of my time into hive so I found that the splinterlands community is active and I can curate them. So I did start curating those and god swear I didn't knew about all this late curation issue. When I knew about It, I brought this to the team, and the team wasn't much interested in taking action because they were more focused on the spl game than their hive curation. But Now they are focused on Hive and they are trying to resolve the issues slowly and improving the quality of their curation.
Above all, whatever I said, here is my honest reaction about this issue. I tried to talk with Marky, but he didn't reply. The apr he shared is not always that much, it's an average of 12 - 13, which is around 30% higher than the linear curation reward. Also, the curation apr acid shared is low because the curated posts are getting downvoted by Marky. That's why the apr is down as well, though it would be an average of 5% - 6% apr. And bdvoter got highlighted here because bdvoter is curating most of the splinterlands post but there are many others doing it too, like stoodkev and many others.
tldr; I want to say I was accused of something that is not my fault; it's the system how it works.
