Color Grading a Workout Commercial

in #curie4 years ago

I'm very excited to be able to finally share this project with everyone. I while ago a friend of mine hired me to color grade a workout video that he filmed. He was trying to get the colors to look right and he just wasn't happy with the results so he messaged me and I was happy to work with him. He described the look he wanted and sent me some examples and this is the final result.

This was the first workout video I have worked on and while I can't share the final videos just yet (they haven't been released yet) I can share a few still images from the social media clips that have been released.

Hopefully, the final long-format videos will be out soon, and ill be able to share more stills and the final videos once they are online. I will also share some before and after stills and talk a bit about the color process and the workflow and show the different steps involved to get the final look.

Until then enjoy these stills and if you have any questions or want any particular content related to commercial work or color grading or anything in the filmmaking world comment below and ill do my best to provide answers and content.

The videos were filmed on the Sony a7s3 in Log 3 if anyone was wondering.

These look great man, love the striking gritty look.
Please share a clip when you get the chance.

Did you enjoy working on this? What were the challenges?

Thanks. Glad you like the look. If/When I can share the clips I will for sure.

I did enjoy working on this project as it was something new and different. I would say the biggest challenge was getting the look to work with the skin tones and not break the image. It was filmed on a Sony a7 and white the footage is great there's only so much you can do with it so it was a balance between getting the look and pushing the image as much as possible without it breaking.

If you want to see some more I post other content on my IG too @erikwerlin and im also available for hire if anyone ever needs professional color grading on their projects.
