RE: Application to become Curie curator

in #curie7 years ago (edited)

Hey there! This is awesome, but I’m obviously quite late to the party. Whompus. I’ve been curie’d a few times, and am part of the community on Discord. I’d love to be more involved. I’m an artist (a theatre-maker to be exact) who is interested in using this platform to empower creatives to thrive and make revenue from the content they’re already creating as artists!

A few recent posts I’ve loved:

  1. Creating Cinematic Drone Footage - Hints, tips and a video dissection.. This one looks like it already got curie’d -- and I know that @markangeltrueman is a curator -- so maybe this one doesn’t count but I loved it (it has everything I look for in a great article!) -- the video series is exceptional, each one would be deserving of its own post and the effect of the compilation is a treasure-trove for outdoor adventure junkies like me!

  2. Chocolate mousse/ice cream with chia pudding THAT TASTE LIKE A DREAM🌈😍Vegan dessert recipe!. Another account I can’t get enough of is @vegan.niinja who is running the new Vegans of Steemit initiative. Her photography is some of the best culinary photography I’ve seen. She has an incredible eye and deserves to go far!

3. Intervención de cuerpo con poema. This one from @Zailecita is in Spanish, which I know can be tricky for @curie. However, the images that go along with the writing are so strong that I feel it is compelling content which transcends language. What is more, I think that the accompanying poem is simple enough that most people would understand its intent--and the visual storytelling drives it all home. This account is new, with a reputation of 29, so this is an example of the kinds of folks I’m looking to find who are fresh to the platform with outstanding talent!

If you aren’t running this initiative anymore no problem, just had to drop a comment in case! :) See you around. @lilyraabe

Hi. New curators are recommended every week. So this is pretty much open all the time.

To become a curator, you should demonstrate that you are familiar with the guidelines and have great curating skills. While these three posts are awesome, they don't fit the guidelines. First two already received Curie votes. You need to find them before they receive Curie or any other significant votes.
The third one wouldn't qualify either because as you stated it is in Spanish, doesn't fit the guidelines.

While I believe you may be a great candidate, you haven't shown your skills yet. Feel free to get familiar with guidelines and try again. Maybe do that in discord. Thanks

Hey there! So sorry, I didn’t realize they needed to meet the 24-hour deadline for posting here in comments. Roger that. I’ll spend some time finding fresh material that I love and drop it here/in Discord when I do. :) Cheers!

24-hour wasn't the issue here.
