He could have kept The Titanic afloat, if he was the captain they say.
So there's a legend that says, if you want it safe, go for Sam. [Well, this is my own version]🙂
"Here we go", as transfer guru Fabrizio Romano will say it, Mr. Sammy Allardyce is back in the EPL and in the dugout for that matter.
It's Leeds United that have gone weary of their current coach, Javi Gracias. His record in charge has been– in 12 games, he has won only three, two draws and seven defeats. Woeful!
Furthermore, reports reveal that the dressing room was no longer motivated under Gracia and their last match, a 4–1, loss against the Cherries, was a point in case. The Director of Football, Victor Orta has also been sacked alongside Gracias. Reports reveal Orta wanted to keep Gracia while owner Andrea Radriazinni didn't fancy that.
Well summarily after only 70 days in charge, Gracia is given the sack and Allardyce comes in with only four matches to play. I don't think Allardyce has ever been hired this late in a season. Furthermore Leeds are in a relegation fight. They are 17th on the log, only ahead of 18th-placed Nottingham Forest on goal difference, while Everton are just a point behind in 19th. Southampton being at the base.
Meanwhile, Leicester are ahead of Leeds only on goal difference, while West Ham are four points clear in 15th.
Allardyce has his work cut out. He resumes work tomorrow. What tough fixtures Leeds have too– Manchester City, Newcastle United, Westham United, Tottenham.
He has got to weave his magic now, to keep this club afloat.
He has saved multiple clubs from relegation including Crystal Palace, Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland and more recently Westham. Whilst at Westham, he once got Mourinho(at Chelsea then) complaining about Westham's defensive game. You can call him a relegation survival specialist.
Well who knows, I just welcome the 68-year old former England national team boss(who lost no matches) back to the EPL. At least we are sure we won't see a Leeds ship in goals like they have done recently, conceding 18 goals in the last 5 games. Allardyce will have none of that, he brings with him defensive solidity. Sean Dyche is doing a job at Everton, that reminds one of how Sam Allardyce does his.
I wish Uncle Sam, all the best.
Cheers.
