How my brain works -
This morning I go to read my daily poem from Poetry and it is a German poem printed first in German and then in English (“regenporträt” by Jan Wagner). This trips the “I should keep working on my German” wire which sends me to Duo Lingo. But then I think I need more, so I download the app for Die Zeit newspaper and try to read a few articles. But then I realize that only helps me with reading German, so I go to Prime and pick a movie I would never normally watch, My Spy: The Eternal City, and set the audio and subtitles to German. And that’s how we get this (yes, that is Mr. Chow from The Hangover playing a senior CIA Agent with a German voiceover). Helfen!
I lived in Germany for a couple of years, but I don't use the language much. I've been doing French on Duo Lingo for over a year, but need to actually speak it more to improve.
