Good Sunday, cyclists! Here comes the most awesome day of the week, it's when the Cycle Feed Team read and manually select the best content of the week.
This week we'll start conquering the mighty alps in France, where the views are amazing and the elevations scary. Continuing our journey we'll land in the exotic Turkmenistan, a fascinating and curious country in the Middle East. Our third selection takes us on a tour through gigantic trees in Ladybird Johnson Grove. To finish our selection we'd like to highlight a bicycle race in memorial of rider Fred Ogle. I knew the ride itself was a different challenge to the others but also that the views were breathtaking, surpassing the amazing terrain that we had already witnessed.

We waited over 2 weeks to receive the result of our visa application and all we got was an email with two "codes" to show at the border. The website Caravanistan suggested this can work, but if their system don't have your code, you'll be stuck in no man's land or get deported.
Cascadia to Aztlan - Groving with the Giants - Written by @stortebeker
Although these amazing trees used to cover the whole region, today most redwoods have been cut, in favor of the much faster growing firs. In fact, it hasn't been until the middle of the 20th century that people started realizing this loss, and designated parks for their protection.
Fred Ogle Memorial 50km Ride - Written by @run.vince.run
The race was started after local rider Fred Ogle was hit by a car an killed while riding his bike a few years ago. Fred was a bike safety advocate, so it was fitting to start a ride in his name, where the course take on the hill climb where Fred lost his life and is marked with his bike, painted white on the side of the road.
