29th of May, 2018.
Second day of 5 days tour in vicinity of Julian Alps was reserved for MTB. Morning weather forecast, using slovenian weather site www.meteo.si gave clear weather without thunderstorms only in the region southwest of Kranjska gora, so I decided to go for MTB tour arround Bovec which is located some 40 kilometers southwest.
Although my original plan was to circle Javorschek mountain to the east and then head south toward Kobarid, it wasn't possible due to rain to the east (local isolated rain Cb clouds), so I decided to explore northern slope of Javorschek.
After climbing to 750 meters and taking some photos, I continued down to Socha valley west of Javorschek.
From now on, weather has improved, and I decided to keep to my original plan - reaching Kobarid and maybe climbing to Stol (1700m). Beatiful scenery along unpaved road north of Socha river motivated me to go further.
There was some rope bridges along the route over Socha, but I didn't try to cross them fully because it wasn't really stable for a man and bicyle together.
Looking back towards Bovec, weather was getting bad, so from this point on, I decided to take the fastest route possible back, leaving Kobarid and Stol for another mission. Storm in the mountains wasn't option for me those days, because it was supposed to be leisure trip, not competition.
Finnaly, I reached Bovec just in time before severe storm that hit the town. For the end, trout with cheese, potato and beer as a reward, was waiting in a small restaurant Gostilna Pri Martinu in the very center of Bovec.

Wow, looks amazing!
Rafting, biking, hiking paradise.
Nice write up and summary of your ride. It is similar to the way I write my cycling blogs. Nice job and effort, the meal at the end looks really good.
