INFERTILITY
Infertility is the inability of a couple to become pregnant ( regardless of cause) after 1 year of unprotected sexual intercourse.
It is said to occur when :
- A woman under 35 has not conceived after 12 months of contraceptive free intercourse (CFI).
- A woman over 35 has not conceived after 6 months of CFI
Women who can get pregnant but are unable to stay pregnant may also be infertile.
** HOW IT OCCURS * *
- egg is released from a woman during ovulation
- Egg moves through the fallopian tube to the uterus
- Sperm deposited by man swims to meet the egg
